Excuse me, that's really silly. If you make a claim like that, you should be able to back it up with sources.
Otherwise you seemingly made it up. It's not my job to prove what you claimed is correct or incorrect.
So, do you have sources? Please post them.

I couldn't agree with you more. Everything the EU supposedly stood for, they have gone against. I recall Nigel Farage saying that not one country has gained from the EU other than Germany. Maybe it's time to tell them where to go?

    No excuse for ignorance
Nor those who ask for references without some study
because "those" will just dispute the sources.

Merkel destroyed Greece to keep the banks intact, and it never got back on the right track, because austerity destroys economies, it doesn't stimulate growth. It was done deliberately to get Greece to sell its assets.

But everything's fine as long as Germany's not affected - but that will change. It always does for Germany. Right now, Italy has more young people unemployed than it ever did before joining the EU.

Will Italy leave the EU, we will have to wait and see. That might depend on help from Russia and China. As for giving Italy loans rather than Eurobonds, only if they want to sell their souls to the IMF and to the one world order freaks.

I can't help thinking of Saint Paisios who said at the inception of the EU, that it will break up and Germany will be to blame. He said Britain will be the first to leave. "How is it possible for nations with people still alive and who were fighting one another to get along now? Don't look at the US, because there everyone brought a rag and together they wove a rug. In Europe the rugs were already woven, and when they try to connect them, each will be pulling in its own direction."

So if someone states something based on experiences, situations and references they came across 20 years ago, they are supposed to look it up to prove it to you? Why?

Anyway, what difference would a reference make if someone has proven their credibility on the forum many times. Shouldn't that be reference enough?

It is not just about austerity, its about reforms, from tax collection, health systems, social systems, legal systems bank systems and so on.
All government systems have to be constantly reformed, adjust, so that they can cope with todays realities.

Greece was so way out of todays reality that it failed. Germany had to send them IRS experts to help them overhaul their IRS beaucracy and so on.
Before the Virus, Greece was on a very good way and had stabilized. Maybe all the reforms it had to make, will help it to recover better.

I know Greece very well, I had a house there, on Skiathos. It was the most corrupt country I ever lived, with the nicest people.
Greece even beat South and Central America in corruption.

So the American Left are behind Hedge Funds?
I often wonder - if the Left get rid of Wall Street, Hedge Funds, big corporations, Big Pharma,
the "military industrial complex" and the like - could this be the opening that China dreams of?

Going back to Italy, to simply looking at the dire situation some of the people are in. I am watching an update on Covid-19 and he is talking about the unrest which is mainly in the South where there have been fewer cases but where they have also been in lock down and which is much poorer than the North.

He speaks of a man going crazy and calling the police because the banks closed and they cannot withdraw his mothers pension which is the only money his family have and they have no food. In footage he is apparently shouting at the police saying he has no money and the Mother is there begging them to come to their home to see they have no food.

He goes on to show an article that in Palermo in Sicily people have taken en mass to raiding Supermarkets because they are starving. They have even set up groups on social media to organise such raids. Crime gangs are apparently exploiting this and the Mayor is warning that a social emergency is coming.

You cannot leave people without food and not expect them to go a bit crazy. That is simply physiologically how not having food can affect one. Italy needs help now.

Corrupt, nah, Greeks just like to practice creative accounting, this is why they always had two sets of books. One for themselves and one for tax collector and whoever else they were hiding their income from.

See, it's all on the up and up.

These million and one foundations such as the Rockefeller Foundation, the Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation, the Clinton Foundation etc., are really established to avoid paying taxes since they are charities. As the executors they draw enormous incomes of course.

Soros uses his Open Society Foundation to donate to NGO's and political organizations that will forward his liberal one world order agenda. Because his foundation doesn't pay taxes, the American people are indirectly paying for his agenda.

I think we need a Flat Tax system, with a progressive Welfare System.
ie everyone pays 30% tax, regardless. The tax return to the very poor
might be several hundred percent of what they actually earn, in welfare
    benefits.
If the rich declare they are poor they too can get food stamps - but they
    still pay their 30%.
    Just a thought.

That's what you call corruption and in Greece it goes to every section of society.
Corruption and cheating and fraud did take Greece down, from the very top to the very down. Simple as that, I lived there.
Germany, Merkel and so on is based on CTs and people who have never been there and lived there and this J idiot, not wanting to take care of the responsibility of his country and handing over the blame to others.

Same has to happen in Italy

Have you ever lived in Greece?

Given what Greece has been through - how come they haven't fixed this corruption thing up?
A friend of mine said she saw a tree fallen on the side walk in Greece. It was pushed out of the
way. She came back two years later and it was still lying there.

So you don't have any sources, made a claim and that's that.
I have no reason to believe your claim and have to assume you lied, otherwise you would willingly post your sources.

Completely off topic. Even the most basic fundamentals are seemingly lost on you. What does the claim said user made have to do with experience or references they came across 20 years ago? Absolutely nothing. Especially since what said user claimed is allegedly something very recent. You should read more carefully. What said user claimed is extremely unlikely and I asked for sources for that claim. There are none, so I assume it's made up, a lie. Just because someone has, so you claim, proven their credibility in the past means everything said poster claims is credible. It's no surprise that such nonsense comes from someone who seriously uses Nigel Farage to support their point. This "the moon is made out of cheese - prove me wrong" nonsense is utterly preposterous.

From this can we gather that you are unaware that any pay or benefits they or any charity employee receives is taxed? The foundation also has to pay Social Security and other payroll taxes as well.

I'd say he is definately one of the more aware, conscious and intelligent people around. I can only guess your belief that you are so superior to him comes from your disgust of his work for democracy in the EU and his dislike of Neo Liberalism which you clearly love. Lets take from the have nots and give to the haves, eh?

Your problem with Varoufakis is that he would not be bought. He would not sell the Greek people for the 0.1%

No, that is not true. These problems were at least two ways. Greece being the weaker could be said to be the less responsible.

The EU knew the situation Greece was in when it joined. It knew they were lying about things and it continued its workings with Greece with this is mind.

German and French banks fell over themselves to lend Greece money it could not afford and that is what was used to destroy Greece. It was German and French banks which were going to fall and which the Greek people were made to pay for. They supported Germany, helped Germany be the one who was making money out of the Euro resulting in pretty much the collapse of their state and massive suicides and emigration. Greece was forced to save German and French banks.

Who is recovering? Your forced Greece into Austerity. Austerity only produces more poverty and the rise of the far right - you managed with the rise in the far right. Enjoy.

So when Italy is facing the worst of the Coronavirus and people are starving you just still think of Germany making money out of it. The EU as you see it is finished. Germany is rising again and with it yet again neo fascism. Whoopee for you.

I thought the British just had enough of losing their own sovereignty to

It was funded by the hedge funds. I am Scottish. We lose far more sovereignty to Westminster than we ever did to the EU. It looks like you support the position of the hedgefunders.

Here they are at it against Greece

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/c.../04/greece-economic-recovery-for-few-not-many

As I said before I have read concerning Brexit that it was a battle between the banks and the Hedge Funds. Boris and the far right - supported by Hedge Funds. Centrists - that is Tory Left and Labour Right support Banks. The Left believed in ending neo liberalism and bringing back democracy but it did not have a look in. Centrist and far rights will always stand together against social democracy or democratic socialism. The West in the last century fought and won democracy. Till the late 70's they worked to get that working. Then they gave up on it and allowed their countries to become once again Corporate Power houses feeding the few and divinely open for fascism.

Yeah, but the ones who established the foundation retained everything by not paying inheritance taxes. But that's not the problem, except to those who lost everything since they weren't wealthy enough to establish a foundation. The problem is that they can use their tax free status for their own political agenda.

George Soros' foundation donates to over 150 liberal organizations in this country, and those liberal organizations usually support a political candidate. Is that support for the candidate direct, or is it purely idealistic, because I'm trying to think of it in terms of the tax free religious institutions such as the Roman Catholic Church.

The difference of course would be in their works, since the Catholic Church serves the public and supports many of the charitable institutions that would be burdening the state and the tax payers - but is the Catholic Church or any religious institution able to support political organizations directly or indirectly?

To be honest, I really don't know. What I do know is that when Evangelical Churches tried to pass around information on how the different candidates voted that were running for office, the IRS was on top of them - even though the parishioners were only given the voting record of the candidates and not being told who to vote for.

But that was decades ago, today I have no idea what's going on. It's probably a lot worse.
