“With interest rates for the United States being at ZERO, this is the time to do our decades long awaited Infrastructure Bill,” President Trump wrote on Twitter.

“It should be VERY BIG & BOLD, Two Trillion Dollars, and be focused solely on jobs and rebuilding the once great infrastructure of our Country!” he added”

Trumps plan is a good one. The right money and the right priorities. We have to guard against democrat pork in my opinion and take advantage of low interest rates for the debt. We need shovel ready jobs for roads, bridges, ports, airports, LNG terminals and other needs.

If there's enough Congresspeople to sign it, and you'd have to deal with Nancy Pelosi's political activism(since that's the only thing she seems capable of doing these days as Speaker of the House.)

The plan needs to be to build useful and needed projects that create construction and permanent jobs. It would be better to scrap the whole thing if democrats load it up with stuff that decreases personal or economic liberty or advances the Green new deal or socialized anything.

A border wall is infrastructure, will create thousands of jobs, many of them permanent, will offer us protection, and its cost is just a teeny weenie fraction of $2 trillion.

I thought this would have happened three years ago... The D's talked about it all the time leading up to the election then crickets as soon as they figured out Trump agreed with them..

    The hate is real.

Good point. That would definitely be a must. I’m thinking that Trump might have found another way to fund it.

Might as well, let's go for an even $10 trillion increase in the debt to wrap up Trump's term in office ... makes Obama look like
    a deficit hawk.

    Oh, For Sure, DL.

Deficits don't matter any more. (Trumpism at it's finest).

Well, it will take him time to explain his brilliance to Steve Mnuchin, so he can begin negations with Nancy....

Or maybe he goes to the bullpen to find another surrogate for the big-boy meetings he's too gutless to attend...

Now is a good time to repave our roads. Better get busy quick though.

Funny you say that... I took a 50 minute drive yesterday and I swear about half of it was under some form of repair/construction, both to the road and the utilities near the road...

Can't get any better for road crews working on things, although I hope they are staying safe themselves...

    Great point!

A great plan to waste money...

We don't need to repave good roads. We need to decentralize our power grid for reasons of strengthening our power grid and ensuring national and personal security during natural, economic, and war disasters. That means battery and solar systems at all apartments and better incentives for homeowners.

We need to reduce road congestion by building new interstate that is designated to fully automated transportation including drone transportation via automated charging spots for international delivery systems. This will also add security as delivery allows for us to receive all our food and resources even in full isolation during a viral crisis.

They (Trump and Peolsi) apparently agree on the infastructure bill. Hell, we should do a 2 dollar package to boost everything at least once a year at this rate:confusion:.

How abour we stop spending more money than we bring in. We have spent too much on other stuff we cannot afford smooth roads.

You can fix them all but at some point they will get damaged again. Its just concrete. As posted above (#14) there are always road crews doing repairs moving on to another spot, then before you know it they are back to the original spot they started. By where I live they redid a a quarter of highway 225 two or three years ago and its already gone back to subpar with all the traffic and big trucks on it everyday.

In other words, smooth roads are temporary and always being maintained.

I would much rather pave the roads and rebuild failing bridges than fund student loan forgiveness or the Green new deal.

You want to reduce carbon, go to war with China, India, Russia and Japan.

Unless they get onboard, nothing will change.

I seen a scientist who said that if America eliminated all carbon tomorrow it would save
    16% of 1 degree.

No planes, cars, oil furnaces, for 16% of 1 degree....:roflol:

You are exactly right. The democrats were so blinded by their hate that they ignored Ivanka and her husband who leaned democrat then and the opportunity to triangulate with Trump on key issues and I believe Trump certainly would have but their rage and hate was so strong they forced him to deal almost exclusively with the GOP

The other thing that we need to do is renegotiate all of our national debt into 30 or longer year bonds while the feds have interest at 0 to 0.25% so that the interest payments on the debt will take a smaller chunk of the budget so that when the economy comes back after the crisis we can then use part of the budget to pay down principal regularly
