Why was the 2009 pandemic not taken ANYWHERE NEAR as seriously as COVID-19?

    The left claims Trump didn't act fast enough. Obama gets on TV saying he's monitoring the flu and preparing "to do what ever it takes" to stop the spread of the Mexican Swine Flu. Apparently, closing the southern border and banning air travel to Mexico for other than immediate family of U.S. citizens and permanent residents was beyond what ever it takes. Obama declared a national emergency just 19 days before the CDC "reported an estimated 22 million Americans had been infected with 2009 A H1N1 and 4,000 Americans have died." Biden was Obama's VP what did he do during all this but nod his head and say yes boss! Folks need to call him on this one.

    They told people to wash their hands. The real problem was H1N1 originated in Veracruz Mexico, Obama never restricted travel nor closed the border to essential traffic only.

    Obama set up a Pandemic response team, Trump got rid of them.... the Obama admin warned Trump about a possible Pandemic, and Trump did nothing

    the reality is, Trump just thought he would be a figurehead, he had no idea how to run the country

    Trump only wanted people around him that told him what he wanted to hear, not what he needed to hear

    he gave the task force to Pence, Pence brought in the experts and was handling it better than Trump, so now Trump is pushing pence to the side and trying to steal the show from him - Trump can't stand anyone getting more attention than him

    he thought Pence woudl be a good fall guy at first, until Pence started getting all the attention

    Obama did not do what SK did which was to gear up with equipment and personnel. Obama just increased the number of bureaucrats and said job done which is typical of how liberals conduct government.

    Trump had 3 years to do this and did nothing, don't blame Obama for Trump's lack of getting anything done

    if Trump would have had a pandemic response team... he would not of been so late to the game

    No. There was an idiot who waited for 1000 Americans to die b4 declaring an emergency, an idiot who infected 60M Americans and killed 12,500 Americans because it wasn't reported. The Obama-Biden flu is still not dead, the hoaxters in the media just reframed it as a component of the seasonal flu to protect the deadly Obamacare attack on the healthcare system.

    Democrats have been screaming for his head since he was elected. According to them he has done nothing right so I wouldn’t expect any different now even at a time we should all be working together. TDS trumps all.

    Uhhh...... We've had 6,000 deaths in 30 days. By this time next month, we will be at a minimum of 36,000 deaths in the US. It could be as much as 108K, IF we don't stay away from each other.

    Not 6,000 total deaths. 6,000 deaths from this one disease. It's now the number 3 killer of Americans, behind cancer and heart attacks.

    Can you tell, me why some of you are staying so willfully ignorant? Do you get some perverse pleasure in watching people die in states you don't like? WTF is wrong with some of you?
