I quote the portion that discredits the rest of the useless verbiage in your post. No need to waste server space quoting useless keystrokes

What Jared Kushner said in that press conference floored me. What an arrogant sonofabitch.

His calling the ventilators in the Federal stockpiles "ours" in reference to the federal government was mind blowing. If the ventilators are not for the states to use because they are theirs, who then are they for? Who are these ventilators being reserved for?

There are no federal citizens that aren't state citizens. So if the ventilators aren't for the states, who need them for the people in those states, there are no people left for them to be for. At least not Americans in this country.

So who, Mr. Kushner, are they for?

You quote the portion that discredits the portion that you do not quote...
That is an interesting debate strategy.

Ah, moved to personal insults now — how completely atypical...
Good to see you have two debate strategies though.

    Awe shuckers.
Changes my word "talk" to "think" and then plays the "insult" card. Adorable!
And, I insulted your premise, not you.

Don't base posts on faulty premises

Have a point and maybe you will get further.
I am tired of the low effort back and forth trolling. Cheers

Trump told the states he was ordering medical supplies, not to worry, he had it all under control, they depended on his word... yes, their mistake I guess

The constitution was designed to place the bulk of control and responsibility for a state in the hands of the state itself. Nowhere does it say that the federal government shall be a nanny controlling what those states choose to do, or be responsible for bailing them out when they fail to act responsibly. The feds are stretching way out now to bail out states that have failed themselves, because the people there are Americans, and most are responsible people- even if they have a governor and state politicians who are jackasses. Those are the politicians that tell the feds they have no business it dictating to states under normal conditions, and to stay out of their business-- but now want to blame the fed for not interfering anyway.

However, the same people who look at government with those same expectations to care for them personally seem to be in large number today. Somebody owes me, I'm entitled, why didn't someone else prepare to save me from my own poor choices... the endless whine of the dependent, and of democratic state leaderships. Be careless until you crash the bus, then demand to be saved by the people you told to stay the hell out of your business.

Interesting sentiment, but it is 100% absolutely not correct or true. Governors and the legislatures carry the primary and ultimate responsibility for the people in their states...... period.

States should have adequate supplies for a month.

In excess of that is “national emergency” which falls on the federal.

The issue is really test equipment.

The infected must be identified and isolated. No one else should have to.

Actually, it is a US government that establishes special regulations that prevents manufacturing of too many devices.
Health care should be very expensive, that is what American people wants.
Health care industry thrives due to artificial deficit of doctors, pharmaceutical products and biomedical equipment.
Now it is time of payback, they have to follow government orders.

In WWII hundreds of thousands of young individuals were asked to sacrifice their lives to preserve a way of life.

Now hundreds of millions are being asked to sacrifice their way of life to try to preserve perhaps 100,000 individual lives, most of whom are already down for the count with terrible health.

Actual count is even less then 100,000, the real number of those who has died due to COVID-19 outbreak should be calculated as difference between number of people who died this year (for any reason) and average number of deceased people per year for the past e.g. 30 years.
It could be that difference may be even negative, that is why we only see absolute numbers about COVID-19, instead of real statistics.

I agree with the OP. It is actually the responsibility of the purchasing agents in the hospitals to acquire equipment and supplies. But the government is trying to help. Since it rarely helps anything, I would say it is positive that government helps.

Every country, every hospital, every health system purchasing agent in the world is trying to buy all the can get as much as they can get and hope it will be enough in the end.

Even bandanas are beginning to run short now. Get 'em while they still got 'em.

If private hospital cannot serve people it should be nationalized.

Nope. The hospitals are city and state run they are therefore supposed to be equipped by the cities and if the city is going to have its own hospital the city is responsible for supplying it.
