The troubling, documented reality that some hyper-partisan fanatics just cannot deal with, apparently.

I have a bias in favor of public health experts over self-promoting politicians in matters of public health, and am strongly inclined to accept the expert assessment when their comments starkly differ:

    "It's under control!"
a"problem that's going to go away!"
"We have very few people with it!"...

"the people are getting better, they're all getting better!"

"I think that whole situation will start working out!"

and how many people in this country will have severe illnesses.
Disruption to everyday life might be severe...
The data over the last week and spread in other countries
has certainly raised our level of concern, and raised our level of expectation
that we are going to have community spread here...”

In that regard, I respect credibility and do not share the abiding blind faith of some:

No; your manipulations may put some in a tizzy- but then, that is probably your real objective. People quoting facts keep things in balance- and they don't drag the internet for the most insulting forms of images and slander to make their point.

No matter how great the need, there are always those who think it's all a "gotcha" game they can win by acting obnoxiously and irresponsibly.

Actually I find posts like yours to be a sign of something totally different. I chalk them up to relieving built us stress over the Trump presidency. I am sorry that the Chinese gave us the Wuhan virus but believe me if I weren't reading all about orange man bad virus from the usual suspects' posts, it would be orange man bad something else.
    So,
turn off the briefings, let Trump do his Trump thing, pay attention to what you decide is best, don't leave the house and have a nice day.

If you tolerate those wallowing in slander without challenge here, they will soon be knocking on your door in person to make sure you get their message. Bad conduct and spoiled child behavior deserves to be called what it is. Just the way I look at it.

You just perfectly described why I hang around here. The difference being, reading all the hate and depression actually is very informing and proof that there are a few in the population that are in serious need of help.
I tell my conservative friends that on any given day may be tired of being locked in the house to come over here and start reading some anti-Trump threads and they will no longer feel depressed knowing that there are people in the world far worse off than they are.
I am buoyed by the fact there has been a sudden rash of medical experts now posting on this forum. With all their advice, this thing will be soon over and it will be on to Trumps' belt buckle not being shiny enough so we gotta impeach the SOB.

You give them too much credit for consistency. If Trump were a Democrat and African -American they'd be anointing him as the second coming for saying the exact same things.

You cannot dispute either the exact quotes or the timetable.

One of Fake Don's persistent propaganda confections that he pulls from his butt is that he quickly banned travel from China despite overwhelming opposition. Obviously, he is not presiding over the U.S. becoming the epicenter of the coronavirus because he took rapid and effective action.

Trump’s lies regarding his “travel ban” have been exposed, yet he persists in feeding them to his worshippers, and some still actually swallow them.

Trump continues to blow gas, claiming that he had been “bold” in imposing travel restrictions even though “everybody said, it’s too early, it’s too soon” and “a lot of people that work on this stuff almost exclusively” told him “don’t do it!”

Barnyard stuff in profusion, of course.

Trump said Democrats “loudly criticized and protested” his announced travel restrictions, and that they “called me a racist because I made that decision!”

In fact, none of the party’s congressional leaders and none of the Democratic candidates running for president criticized that decision.

Trump said the travel restrictions “saved a lot of lives” and reduced U.S. COVID-19 cases to “a very small number!”

Reality, often unkind to Trump. begs to differ, as we are painfully aware.

Health experts say Trump was wrong to refer to the travel restrictions as a “travel ban,” as he had on March 4 with Fox News personality Sean Hannity. On March 5, Trump said he “closed down the borders to China and to other areas that are very badly affected.”

Actually, the travel restrictions failed to prohibit U.S. citizens and permanent residents, who had traveled to China from entering the U.S. Before the restrictions were imposed, 300,000 people had come to the U.S. from from China in the previous month while the coronavirus was spreading.

There were no restrictions whatsoever on Americans going back and forth. On February 5 alone, 30 planes landed in Los Angeles that either originated in Beijing or came here on one-stops, 30 in San Francisco, 25 in New York City.

On Jan. 24, a week before the travel restrictions, the CDC had confirmed two cases of the novel coronavirus in the U.S. from people who had returned from Wuhan, China, where the outbreak had begun.

Furthermore, the import of goods from China was exempt from the travel restrictions, as were, of course, the people who fly the planes and drive the boats that bring those goods from China.

Trump was lying again when he repeatedly said that his decision to impose the travel restrictions on Jan. 31 was made despite objections from most of the experts on containing the spread of infectious disease.

“We closed those borders very early, against the advice of a lot of professionals, and we turned out to be right. I took a lot of heat for that!”

In fact, Trump’s own Health and Human Services Secretary Alex M. Azar told reporters on Feb. 7. “These were the uniform recommendations of the career public health officials here at HHS.”

Trump, putting all his bullshit aside, had been throughly hornswoggled by Xi, as Trump was spewing effusive praise for the Chinese leader, despite his concealing the seriousness of the threat.

It was conservatives Tom “Picky” Cotton and Lynn Cheney who, after studying the disturbing reports of the Trump-maligned U.S. intelligence services, recognized that Trump was being badly duped and sounded the alarm.

Even then, Trump's phony version continued to dictate U.S. policy.

Well Australia has a bit of a sordid history with the indigenous so maybe it's better we don't use dark skinned examples. Lets just add accuracy AND consistency and keep it honest and fair to those that suffered under their tyranny..

Yes. Why, were it not for double standards, some folks would have no standards at all!
