I see a lot of focus on how the virus economy is all Trumps fault and approval polls are low and folks arent happy with the methods of quarantine and etc, and we all know what the real point is- vote Biden in Nov.

The problem is, theres nothing being provided as to why. What would/will Biden do differently? If the handling of the virus is 'Trumps Waterloo' (as opposed to the waterloo of our entire centralized system, as I see it), then tell us how Biden is going to make it all better. Because, otherwise, the way I see it, we'll need Trump's proven economic mastery when all this is over, not Biden's proven mastery of pandoring to PCness and kneeling before the establishment.

Biden looks better in dark glasses than most politicians.

Biden has been part of an economic recovery team after the 2007-2008 crash. He has experience with this. He has experience building legislation to handle
crisis. He knows how the legislature process is handled. He knows how to build coalitions in Congress.

Trump started with a silver spoon economy (low unemployment and 7 years straight of positive GDP) He has a history of cut-and-run when things get tough (6 bankruptcies where he bailed on his subcontractors). Trump has no experience building coalitions to handle crisis. He couldn't get a consensus to replace Obamacare. He couldn't build a coalition to get his wall funded. Trump's managerial style is to pit his employees against each other (hell, he built his entire TV show around creating conflict).

But you'll dismiss my argument out of hand just because it doesn't fit into the kiss-ass mentality of stroking Trump's ego.

Once the Democrats took over Congress in 2006, GDP started going south. In 2009, when the Chosen One was starting His first year in office, GDP hit its lowest point in a decade. It was only starting in 2010, when Republicans once again took over the House, that GDP started growing again in spite of Democrats holding onto the Senate; 4 years later, Republicans would once again control the Senate. In 2018, mostly because of the lies and deception fueled from the multi-million dollar, multi-year Special Counsel investigation, the majority of the American voters were hoodwinked into voting Democrat. Two years later, the economy is suffering again. Notice any pattern yet? You'll also notice this correlation between the economy going south and Democrats taking over Congress in 1988. In 1988, in the 100th United States Congress, Democrats once again controlled the House and Senate. And, of course, as a matter of course, the economy weakened into a recession, which helped get the rapist Bill Clinton into office in 1992. And in 1994, the Revolution of '94 gave the Republicans a congressional majority, and the economy started improving again, for which Clinton took all the credit.

In summation, Biden was, and Democrats in general are, not a part of any economic recovery. Biden was a hindrance to it. Fortunately, their was enough congressional Republican strength to prevent the Obama-Biden fiasco from unleashing too much damage; but the damage they did unleash in their 8 years was a factor in the long recovery from the recession.

In other words, you have no realistic response because everything I pointed out was true. Trump has run out on his subcontractors EVERY time the going got rough. He is a cut-an-run type. True in his marriages, true in his business dealings.

You do see that pattern, though, right? I mean, you're not really refuting anything I said in my post. Everything I mentioned is factual. In 1986, Democrats only controlled the House; Republicans still controlled the Senate. In 1988, Democrats took control of the Senate, and then the economy took a nose dive into a recession. And the American voter, not really putting things into context, give the Democrats even more power by electing Clinton, and the economy gets worse. Then they learn from their ways, and vote Republican, and then the economy improves again. Unfortunately, the American voter has short-term memory problems, as they keep repeating the mistake of electing Democrats into majorities in the first place.

You're assuming no other variables in the economy, and any economist will tell you that's bull ****.

I'll play your little game. How come these "other variables" come up when Democrats take over? I find that outstandingly convenient that you use the "other variables" argument, without really specifying what they are and how them come into play. Please, enlighten me; what are these "other variables" that are outside the control of Democrats that make the economy worsen when they take power?

Your claim that it was Dem's who were responsible for the economic decline on the chart is 1) unsupported and 2) silly.

First you need to prove that the President has nothing to do with it ... nor the party he represents
Then there are a whole lot of other things you need to prove to make your case.

C'mon let's give old Joe a break, after all he marched with MLK during the Civil War and did two tours in the Nam and kill hundreds of gooks with his AR 14. He also dated Morgan Fairchild with whom he also slept with and was at Woodstock. He once was the CEO of a major corporation in the Ukraine. The list just goes on and on, the man is an effing legend.

    A: "I hate Trump."

Biden and his family have a demonstrated history of graft and self-dealing, being bought and sold by various gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex branches over many decades, so of course Biden is better for the Complex.

But really, it's more anti Trump than Pro Biden because they can't run the giant graft theft troughs as efficiently while Trump is in the WH in which all these corrupt "cross-overs" like the Comeys... and hell hundreds of similar Complex parasites. Moreover, another Trump term has a real chance of undoing many of the graft structures such as propaganda masquerading as a "free press" that have acted as a wrecking ball on this country for 50+ years during the Democrat Hegemony.

The virus is not Trump's fault - no one is saying that it is. What is being said is that his mishandling of it from the very beginning resulted in less preparedness and his laissez faire attitude resulted in people not taking it seriously. Where Joe, I believe, will be better is that he has experience in working through a crisis and working with members of the Senate from both sides. He has respect of many within government, something Trump lacks. His would be the voice of reason and authority - Trump lacks that ability as well.

    Just my 2 pennies...

Like climate change, in which you most certainly believe, perhaps religiously so, I am simply pointing out trends, a correlative relationship between Democrats taking power and the growth in GDP.

Ladies and gentleman of the jury, I give you Exhibit A.

    Exhibit A: 1980's - 1990's GDP

When you look at this chart, I want to notice two things--what happens when Democrats take over Congress and what happens when Democrats take over Congress and the White House. Let's focus our first on 1978 to 1980. As you'll notice, GDP falls quite drastically. Now, which Congress is this? Why, it's the 95th United States Congress. Which party controlled both chambers? Democrats! Who was president during this period? Jimmy Carter! Now I want you to notice what happens between 1982 and 1984. The economy skyrockets! Who's in control of Congress? Republicans. Who is the president? Reagan. Between 1980 and 1988, GDP mostly stays above 4%. Who's president? Reagan. Who's in control of Congress? Republicans control the Senate; Democrats control the House. Then between 1988 and 1992, the economy begins to sour. Who's in control of Congress? Democrats, completely. Now, from 1998 to 1994, Democrats control both the presidency and Congress. Notice how GDP never hits 4%. Now check 1994 to 1996, GDP starts to consistently move to 4%. And what happens when Republicans take over both the Senate and the House? The GDP grows more to over 4%. And stays at 4% to finish out the millennium in which both the presidency and Congress is controlled by Republicans.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, I give you Exhibit B.

    Exhibit B: 2000's - 2010's GDP
    [IMG]

The decade starts out strong with nearly 5% GDP. 2001 we take a hit; 9/11 is certainly a factor. Besides that, the economy is doing well, surpassing 5%. But then Americans, again, get hoodwinked into voting Democrat, putting Pelosi and Harry Reid into the White House. They cling onto the coattails of the economic success yielded by Republican economic acumen. But then 2008 rolls around. Look at the drop between 2007 and 2008. They just sliced the work of economic success by Republicans in half. And then the following year, 2009, when both Congress and the presidency are controlled by Democrats, the Democrats manage to sink GDP below 0%. What an achievement! And Biden is with them in Congress all along. But the American voter wises up, and in 2010, Republicans take over the House. And economy bounces back.

Let's finally look at 2018 with Exhibit C.

Exhibit C: Quarterly GDP for 2018
    [IMG]

Look at the third quarter of 2018 compared to the fourth quarter. Just the knowledge that Democrats are going to take over shakes things up for the negative. And why? Why is that? Well, Democrats don't have a reputation for being pro-business. More and more, they are becoming the party of Bernie Sanders, increasing taxes and ideologically moving closer and closer to socialism.
