Jared Kushner's family real estate company, Kushner Cos., which owns commercial and residential real estate, has begun threatening renters with eviction according to complaints. To paraphrase the letter:

"You’re going to be homeless if you are unable to pay rent due to the government forcing all businesses to close in the midst of a global pandemic. You scumbags better stay in line or you’ll get what’s coming to you the moment things get back up and running again.

Make sure to enter the raffle for our effing EASTER BASKETS. Paying tenants only."

    God, what dirtbags.

    How do conservatives defend this?

This was near the top then

No idea how you missed it.

The Maryland and New Jersey moratoriums on evictions, however, do not prevent debt collectors from filing new lawsuits

You seem to be missing the bigger picture here.

NO Free rent???? Seems fair. Maybe they should be able to live rent free because what if they’re out of work for a year?

The landlord should have foreseen this coming and had enough savings to cover the rent for the next year. You know, like what we are all supposed to have done. LOL.

You misquoted the letter completely. Did Adam Schiff write the OP for you?

Watch them below. I could not possibly mimic it here, but they will, and then they will tell us all how well market forces work, and how silly we are all to think that the regulation of those excessive market forces, is the only way to keep capitalism at all. Liberals and progressives believe in those eviction moratoriums that they will quote now and sneer at later as the 'Nanny State'

    I didn't quote it, I paraphrased it.

You know, like that official "perfect transcript"?

I don't see the problem. It seems like they are being quite reasonable, even steering their tenants to where they can get assistance. Landlords still need to eat as well, or are they all supposed to go without? How is the property supposed to be maintained without income? Sorry, but the virus doesn't mean everyone gets a free ride.

Do you know how long it takes to get evicted? In some states 6 months.

if white people are forced to leave their apartments, is Kushner racist?

I seems like a nice place. I think it is a senior's community so most residents are probably retired and not impacted by loss employment. Still sad for those that will get evicted due to job loss related to covid 19 though.

You do realize that 500 BILLION of the stimulus package goes towards businesses just like this to cover expenses during this crisis?

That's, literally, what it was made for.

On the contrary, it went exactly where I predicted it would go.

You see, I don't start many posts, but when I do it isn't to preach to the choir.

That all depends on what side of the fence you're standing on.

I see a multi-billion dollar company with its hand out to the feds pleading for money while they send threatening letters to their tenants who may have a difficult time making ends meet right now.

Yes, I understand that you see it fundamentally different. That its not the responsibility of a billion dollar company to keep a rainy day fund. That only applies to people living paycheck to paycheck.

    Congratulations back.

No. Which is what the stimulus bill was designed to accommodate.

    Have you forgotten that already?

This is not unique to the Kushster. Landlords that do not start the process risk taking huge loses. Many people who can pay may use this as an excuse not to. This letter sends them the right message. For those who cannot, there are options and this letter can be useful to those seeking assistance.

Before you call them dirtbags, I was a renter in Los Angeles for years. Democrat landlords are no better.
