I don't think we need this. There's an emergency right now. This will not end well:

Have you seen Idaho's numbers? This has been a primary issue from the start. Rural areas are unlikely to be overwhelmed due to low population density and reduced contact between people, yet the economic damage could be catastrophic for months or years to come. I see no problem with provided they use sensible precautions...

Church service worshiper fatalities don't bother me a bit. It's the innocent medical and essential services people they can infect that worries me.

Both left and right, people have gone full retard.

The left is busy trying to use the pandemic to stop Trump, the right is being paranoid and defiant over sensible precautions.

Where are the adults? Can we just get through this thing without all the bull ****?

The Bundys are at it again?

Unconstitutional, my butt ... when a state of emergency is declared, orders like shelter in place, curfews, etc. are not unconstitutional. Geebus, the lack of civics education in this country is frightening! Yahoos like this need to crack a book or two.

People like this don't give a damn who they infect. Morons.

'Sensible precautions'? Eh. These sensible precautions have allowed the government to essentially violate private property rights(not allowing gatherings even in homes.). Nothing about this situation is sensible.

I can follow it for myself, but I don't blame those who don't follow it, as it smacks dab of the country.

LOL! True, that. But Boise isn't rural, and even Sandpoint has nearly 10,000 residents. Plus, the Bundys are inbred idiots IMO.

Still, I'd argue 1000 people in Idaho are less of a health threat than 200 on a NYC subway. I get what they are doing, wanting to network to help each other. Another reason to push rural high speed internet, not many have the same social options as urban and suburban people...

All manner of things could go wrong. Did you know that many federal states of emergency enacted long ago are still in effect?

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_emergency#United_States

"States of emergency can also be used as a rationale or pretext for suspending rights and freedoms guaranteed under a country's constitution or basic law, sometimes through martial law or revoking habeas corpus. The procedure for and legality of doing so vary by country."

"The 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act allows the government to freeze assets, limit trade and confiscate property in response to an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to the United States that originates substantially outside of it. As of 2015 more than twenty emergencies under the IEEPA remain active regarding various subjects, the oldest of which was declared in 1979 with regard to the government of Iran. Another ongoing national emergency, declared after the September 11 attacks, authorizes the president to retain or reactivate military personnel beyond their normal term of service."

I'm onboard with every American having free access to widespread, state-sponsored internet. People shouldn't be punished for choosing to live in the boonies. It's nice and quiet out there, and you can see the stars.

Was there a point you wanted to make with that? Or is it just a whataboutism?

False. The infection will just take longer. And then they will reinfect other States who have acted responsibly and suppressed the virus.

Do you seriously think they have detected and isolated everyone in Idaho who has it? It only takes one person to reinfect the entire country... hell, the entire world. Remember this all started with one person.

Enraged anti-Trump zealots have no real interest in social distancing, When they pretend that they care about it they are not telling the truth.

    The proof - again:

So, do you support shutting down mass transit?

Then locking down the southern border should be the biggest concern moving forward. Idaho people are less likely to start this over than completely unmonitored illegals entering and spreading across the country to sanctuary cities...
