What prevents a Texan, going to the University of Wisconsin, from voting by mail in TX and WI?

We should eliminate cars as even with legislation, people will speed.

The point is, it can be done.

    You prove my point.
Why do you think legislation will prevent the Democrats from cheating?

Probably b/c the same legislation will keep the GOP from cheating?

    What is your point?

When it comes to elections I put all my faith in democrats to make they're fair and every vote is counted. They are so thorough they manage to find ballots in the trunks of cars, storage rooms, garbage cans and basements. Such amazing people.

Most of the major voter fraud is done by Republicans, look at NC for example.
It benefits both parties to make sure the program is secure from the other side.

Congress mandated that the Postal Service prefund its retirement plan at a level that no other business, public or private, has ever been required to do. This alone would shutter most private businesses — it has little to do with competition. Mail revenue is down but several proposals have been suggested that would offset this but is being ignored by congress.

Should demand that Pelosi move to another country and count the votes for the Marxist Socialist party there. China is nice this time of year they say

No private business is required to have a retirement plan. That most certainly is a competitive advantage.

The Postal Service is rapidly becoming the buggy whip division of the Federal government. Advancements in technology are changing the way we communicate, and that has a impact on the need to provide a federal infrastructure to support a type of communication that we no longer utilize. We don't have a postal service to make sure people get their anal lube from Amazon. We have a postal service to make sure that people are able to communicate with their government.

For 70 billion a year, do you think we could create a federal digital communication infrastructure that everyone in the nation could access?

    I do.

Could that replace the post office?

    I think so.

Three months ago we didn't imagine we'd be quarantining ourselves. Times change. And the discussion of options for November is not a futile experience. Its a much better option than waiting until October, the virus resurfacing and we're left wringing our hands! If we've learned nothing else from all this experience, we should have learned that preparation is vital.

70 Billion? Why would we pay 70 Billion for something to replace something that currently costs us 0?
I agree that most mail could be digitized but not all mail. Packages and goods cannot however.

Voter suppression is integral to the existence of the Republican party. They will not allow a vote by mail nationwide even if it was proven to be more secure than voting in person. They are unable to win on popular vote or ideas so they have to gerrymander, suppress or outright cheat.

It isn’t that they have a retirement program it is that they have to fully fund it for — I believe — 60 years. No other company could even afford to do this for a short period much less indefinitely.

Let them actually be competitive and play by the same rules before we kill it off — especially seeing that it costs the taxpayer nothing.

By having the conversations now - instead of the fall - perhaps all the kinks can be worked out. I thought America was a 'can do' country, yet all I'm hearing is 'can't do that!'

So.... nothing prevents a Texan, going to the University of Wisconsin, from voting by mail in TX and WI
Imagine the outrage from the left if they discovered Hillary lost WI because of out-of-state people who voted twice by mail.

I'm happy to let you continue down your nay saying path. I'm not suggesting that the system is sorted for mail in voting, but some planning and thinking ahead is not a bad thing. Situations that you suggest may well be sorted. Why are you against the idea of making it work - legally and effectively? If this virus comes back in the fall, there will be no way that voting stations can be open. So what happens then?

When someone demonstrates how the provisions in the law which creates mail-in voting as the primary means of casting a ballot prevents a person from voting in two (or more) states in the same election, I'll give consideration to the idea.

Good to know. So, then, you should have no problem with people working on creating solutions to the problems that currently exist. After all, isn't it important that safe, fair and legal elections proceed in November?

They don't always and one reason we have purges of the voter rolls but then liberals and Democrats oppose such maintenance of the voter rolls. Let's say someone living in your home dies and the next day their mail in ballot arrives. What is to prevent you from casting that ballot, mailing it in, and it being counted the next week in the election? How about a landlord who's tenet moves out, out of state, and the ballot comes to the mailbox so the landlord takes it and fills it out and mails it in?

The myth of voter suppression is integral to the existence of the Democratic party. They want mail in vote harvesting even when proven the lax security and ripe for fraud over the secure voting in person with an ID. They are unable to win popular votes on their ideas so they must create votes, assert phony claims about vote suppression and out right cheat to win.

    Indeed.
Thus, my opposition to any system that does not prevent a person from voting in two (or more) states in the same election.
Surely you will oppose any such system as well.

Isn't it important in all elections. I go to my polling place, flash my ID, pick up a ballot, go mark it and then run through the counting machine. About as secure and safe as you can get.
