Well, I don't personally support him but to lots of folks, Joe Biden is the one who can save our country from Donald Trump.

Surprisingly enough, left leaners on this forum don't talk much about Joe. Too busy bashing Trump. Hopefully they'll flock to this thread to tell us why Biden is their man.

Lots of complaints about Trump's outspokeness. Wouldn't have that problem with Biden... he's a natural born orator... kinda like Barack, but whiter and less articulate.

Biden has four big advantages in this race:

1- He's moderate. He is a compromise candidate, who is known to the voters and has a lot of experience.

2- He takes advantage of the fact that Trump is hated by the majority of Americans.

3- Like Obama and Clinton before him, he can bring the country back on the road of prosperity.

4- He proposes a compromise universal health care system, considering how far behind the U.S. is compared to other Western nations and that Trump has nothing to offer to Americans.

You ignored Trump's, why should it be any different with Biden?

You don’t speak for the majority of Americans, or any Americans at all. Get over yourself.

Any guess who the DNC will pick for his running mate... realizing they'll probably take over sooner than later.

Normally, I wouldn't vote for a candidate who is as old as Biden. But given Trump's mental state right now, I'll be giving Biden's VP choice special consideration. I'm Ok with Biden as a place-holder candidate.

Do you have any input into who they'll pick? I support the GOP financially which means I get tons of surveys asking what I think. Do you get the same with your financial support of the DNC?

I still don't think creepy uncle Joe will be the nominee but I hope he is. Easy win.

    1. Trump is stronger than he was in 2016

    2. Biden is weaker then Hillary was in 2016

    3. Biden has dementia and is horrible live

    4. Polls show a large chunk of Democrats want to replace Biden with Cuomo

Funny that the Democrats think the candidate with the best chance to beat trump is a creepy old white guy with dementia. They have nobody better. The media won't be able to hide his kid sniffing and rape allegations like they have in the past. Most Americans don't know about it.

Even his own party knows his brain deteriorating but they have nobody else and they just gotta get him then figure out what to do after. I think that in the unlikely event Biden gets elected his VP pick would be our next president and that could happen very quickly after the election. I predict that Biden would suddenly and completely be removed from the public eye or even die.

I saw a poll showing many Democrats want Biden replaced.

The most important thing to Democrats about their VP is the race and gender. Is that important to you. Would you be mad if the VP wasn't the race and gender you like?

It is my sincere belief that most Democrats at this point would clearly much rather have Cuomo as their candidate (nobody truly is an enthusiastic Biden supporter). The problem with that is if they were to install Cuomo as their candidate at a brokered convention, it would anger many Bernie supporters and cause Democrats to ultimately lose a large percentage of Bernie's voters.

With that undeniably being the backdrop, I think it would be wise from the Democrats perspective to name Cuomo as Biden's running mate at the convention, and then soon after have Biden drop out for health reasons and Cuomo would then become the de facto Democrat nominee while avoiding the damage that would come from the Democrats simply installing Cuomo at a brokered convention. If I were somehow in charge of the Democrat party, that is what I would do. Since I despise the Democrats, it is my sincere hope that they do not do this.

I'm independent. I don't particularly like either party and would dearly love to see a viable third party in this country.
I didn't vote for either Trump or Hillary because they were equally toxic.

But Trump has got off the deep end. Those of us who had dealing with Trump in Palm Beach understood Trump had issues with self-image, but it's steadily becoming worse, and the last few days it's deteriorated into crazy town.
I would hope Biden gets Amy K. as his VP choice - we've had enough of Drama Queen President and she would be
    a calm, steady influence.

Great analysis. But I think your scenario is mostly a fairy tale. The Warren/Sanders faction isn't going to let it happen. The farther those two are away from the convention the better it will be for the DNC. They need moderate and independent voters to beat Trump.

I have to say kudos for making the attempt but...
    1) There is no such thing as a moderate democrat. The radicals in the party have pushed the democrats too far left. Joe will have to kowtow to the lefties to get their support.

2)This is a myth. You mean Trump is hated by a majority of folks on Twitter. Americans love Trump!

    3) I doubt he can actually do it. Clinton did it by working with the Republicans who guided him. Not gonna happen these days. Obama was not successful. We had the longest and slowest economic recovery since the Great Depression. The only reason we did recover was because obama continued the Bush policies.

    4) Millions of Americans will lose their health insurance if this happens. It is not as popular a thing as advertised.

Biden completely sucks as a candidate. There is so much video footage of his gaffes and creepy-ness that the DNC can hide him all they want but it will not work.

I have noticed that so far our Joe Biden supporters have mostly been as absent in their praise of him as he has been from the cameras. Forget Where's Waldo; the more interesting question is Where is Sleepy Joe? Heck one can perform a two part search; the first, is for his body and the second is for his brain.

That aside, I've also noticed that they have said nothing about Bernie Sanders endorsing Joe Biden whereas most of Sander's political support groups are saying, "No way in hell are we going to support Joe Biden." Yes we have PUMAs! That would be (Party Unity My Ass).

Do you think his sexual assault will hurt him or is that more of an incentive for the left wing to champion him?

Maybe because there is a good case against Trump.

Resorting to nicknaming like “Sleepy Hoe” means you lack a concrete argument why he shouldn’t be elected. And it’s childish. And below the Oval Office. Yes, people who engage in this kind of nicknaming deserve to be lectured.

You know a administration is pretty fowl when it has a higher turnover rate of staff than 16 years of the two last presidents combined. We need someone with class and intelligence yet can be straightforward with people. Biden is that person and demonstrated such in that confrontation with that Toledo worker who was eager to fight.

By 10, could happen, by 5 more likely. It isn't those who identify themselves as Republicans and Democrats that will make the difference. History shows those folks vote for their party's candidate on average 90% of the time regardless of who the candidates are. It's independents, the non-affiliated, the less to non-partisan folks that usually decide presidential elections. Trump, Obama, Bush, Bill Clinton, Bush I, Reagan all won them and all won the election.

When 40% of the electorate identify themselves as independents, that should let each party know how important it is to win them. Yet, this group is the most ignored as each party concentrates on their base, getting them out to vote.

I think Biden will win the swing voters, better known as independents. He certainly is a lot less disliked by these swing voters than Hillary Clinton was. One should remember 54% of all independents did vote against Trump in 2016. The 42% who voted for Hillary plus the 12% who voted third party against both Hillary and Trump. I don't think many of that 12% who disliked Trump in 2016 have come to like him and I'm fairly certain those independents who voted for Hillary aren't going to vote for Trump this time around. Hence I think Biden will win, but closer to 5% than 10%.
