If there were a million legal substances which were worse than marijuana, it does not change the fact that it is a dangerous substance. I am not responsible for why laws are what they are which makes your question totally irrelevant.

Look up toxicity of alcohol vs THC.
There is no lethal amount of pot one can physically consume, while there is a lethal amount of booze one can physically drink.

For my tastes 2 drinks = 1 hit of Jack Herer.
1 bottle of vodka = 2 hits of White 99.

 

All recreational drugs are stupid and pointless. I think all should be legal though. Nobody should be able to tell anyone else how to live their life. However, if there is a substance related death, then the penalty should be death. Do what you want to **** up your own body, but you better think twicw before you **** up somebody else's life. If you are a scumbag addict who cant handle their ****, then the world is better off without you. Also, making drugs illegal just raises huge amounts of cash for drug dealers, gangs, and terrorists. So yeah, legalize all of it, but make the penalties absurdly high for substance related death or injuries.

I was somewhat on the fence about legalizing it in Colorado but I would vote NO if I could again. I f**king hate the smell of it, and it is everywhere. People ignore the rules and smoke it anywhere they damn well please. A lot of semi brain dead young people walking around.

Most can handle alcohol also. That does not make it a good idea. You won't know whether you have a problem until you have the problem.

 

That’s absurd. And I’m someone who won’t have more than two drinks when I go out to dinner. One drink an hour so I’m safe.

 

Id advocate giving such an option to victims family. The court would impose the punishment to which the family would agree to.

I've seen studies that suggest that those who smoke marihuana tend to not have a lot of respect for authority. Which I suppose is why most pot smokers tend to lean left, as right wing and authoritarian are different words for the same thing. What is not clear is whether marihuana causes one to lose respect for authority, or if those who naturally don't have a lot of respect for authority are more likely to use marihuana.

 

Why is that absurd?? if they took actions that resulted in killing another, how is that any different from shooting them? After you drink and get behind the wheel you cant call that accidental manslaughter anymore. You have made the choice to operate a piece of heavy machinery under the influence, and are putting everyone else in danger with your thoughtlessness. How hard is it to just not touch alcohol if you are going to drive?? Get a damn DD, and be ****ing responsible adult. When I used to drink if I knew I was going to be driving I would not have even a single beer.
