Pursuing someone is not the same thing as attempting to make an arrest.

Maybe when he ran, they assumed he was the burglar, and they were trying to keep on eye on his position until police could come.
Not that police would have necessarily been able to arrest him, but they likely would have stopped him, demanded to see identification, asked questions, etc.
(maybe taken a picture was well, so they would know what suspect looked like, in case he did turn out to be the burglar, to help them know who to possibly keep on the lookout for)

It seems to me more likely to be an ambiguous case somewhere between self defense and non-justifiable homicide.

 

He seemed to run towards them, in that video.

We couldn't see the details of exactly what was happening (since it took place on the other side of the vehicle), but if he was ramming into or towards them or was attempting the grab the gun, they may have been justified in shooting.

One could of course still make the argument they provoked the shooting. (i.e. Even a situation that was self-defense is not automatically necessarily self defense in the eyes of the law if the person created that situation in the first place)

Personally ..I would be cutting and running through trees and not confronting 2 psychopaths with shotguns

Why try and fist fight your way out of this situation when confronted by 2 guys with guns? Sure, it seems likely within his rights to try and defend himself but it also seems pretty stupid to even try. Best just surrender until the police arrive in this situation.

Sure you CAN fight back, sure it may be within your rights, but the likelihood of success in that situation was virtually non-existent. I just dont get it.

I just heard that Greg and Travis McMicheal have been arrested. Of course, they will probably be bailed out right away. But, this is a good first step.

But in a real situation I may have frozen

 

my brother has very small kids and he has the do kickboxing and BJJ

They didn't. The link in the OP says... SOMEONE called up the police saying some black man ran through that construction site. As far as I know the killers never said that they called up the police. They just saw a black guy jogging, that triggered them thinking this could be a burglar, hence they started a lynching mob. They chased him down, had their guns out, demanding him to stop. That is starting with a kidnapping of that guys freedom. Black people aint other people's property to order around,.. remember? THEY LOST THE WAR!

 

I am pretty sure most folks won't be shocked, it's not as if we haven't seen it before.
