There is a balance between the two, it's not an absolute one way or another. Human lives require the food and shelter, or these can cease. Unless one makes a change to socialism, money or a method of exchange, usually obtained by working, is necessary to eat and have shelter. Both are not necessarily replaceable, or irreplaceable.
There should never be an equal balance in the choice between commerce and human lives, never. It should 'absolutely be absolute' -- human lives prevail in importance.
