    Your advice is all over the map....you just "obey". Fauci for one goes from one extreme to another. He doesn't know himself . yet you "obey". Yes, a "goody two shoes".

    Advice comes from several sources "educate yourself". Government is not the best source. China Virus spreads primarily by hands to face. Not airborne water droplets. Keep your hands clean and modify your behavior by not touching the face. That will keep you 99% safe. You'd rather raise fear.

    It IS an obstruction of the airway. The mask is the obstruction, even by the definition you offer. We were not born with masks. Masks obstruct the normal flow of air. That's why long term use is harmful.

    I just switched mine to a single layer of thin cotton cut from a Gadsden flag bandana. does absolutely nothing but, virtue signals to those stores that require a facial covering that I am a hip follower of the tripe put forth by our fearless leaders. I may continue this practice as my DL is expiring next year and can't wait to see if it is permitted come photo time.

    Your straw man is absurd.
    Is it that difficult for you to carry a mask and put it on when you are in close quarters? A friend of mine lives in a 30-story condo. He carries a mask for when he's in the condo elevator and lobby and takes it off when he's outside for his walk.

    We have a moral responsibility to protect others by how we conduct ourselves. In this case, if you aren't near other people, not wearing a mask is common sense.
    What does this this have to do with wearing a mask? Answer: nothing.

The WHO....that’s the world health organization. THIS IS ENTIRELY GOVT SOURCED, just not ours. I guess you’re implying the Trump govt can’t be trusted ?

    The totally........ Post makes no sense. What’s a “goody two shoes ?” Is that someone who believes in science and the experts in a particular area ? As yet, on your other post you used a source from.......INDIA, science, government and the WHO...which contradicts that govt. sources can’t be trusted....

    But it doesn't survive more than seconds in open air. The idea is that it really has to almost forced into you, like when a person standing close to you coughs.

    Though who consciously coughs into a mask they're wearing? Ewww...you pull it down and up pops the elbow (we hope)

    I think we might be confusing an exposed virus Out if doors with one protected by a droplet which can ride on a cool air Currant but can survive for hours on a surface that is exposed to air. Cool dry conditions like air conditioning extend the virus exposer time.

    There is scientific evidence mask wearing cuts transmission. Why on earth would you call it "tripe?" Are you afraid your Trumper friends would laugh at you for wearing a mask in public? Seems so.
    Huh? Everyone knows you'll have to take off any face covering.

    I resent having to renew my license every five years with no test for anything, not even a simple eyesight test. So, I fantasized about wearing dark glasses, tapping my way to the counter with a red-tipped white cane... but it's just frustration with what seems to be a rather stupid system.

    The President can deal with patents that get in the way of larger-scale production. 3M has a number of mask patents they've been using to limit production and increase profits.

    I'm not talking about the States doing something for a limited time, such as a federal contractor, I'm talking about them getting their universities to design and their State Enterprise manufacturing. Universities must be pretty stupid if they can't figure out how to make an N95 or KN95 filter.

    Of course. It's probably even cost-effective given how much it costs to hospitalize someone with COVID-19.

    Trump says he wants to put down any spike in COVID-19 cases without using lockdowns. Seems to me that having effective PPE available, perhaps rushed from a federal government stockpile, would be part of staying open. Heck, effective PPE might even prevent a spike in the first place.

    Which passed enabling legislation like Defense Production Act of 1950.
    We need the federal government to step up in this emergency. Do we need fifty stockpiles of masks to make sure each state is prepared to snuff out an outbreak? Or should we have a federal stockpile we rush to a state with a problem?

    If we want to stop SARS-CoV-2, we need something n100 respirators with HEPA filters...
