Orange County upstate NY? LOL. Dude, over ten percent of your working population lives in NYC during the day. Having a blankey and pillow in a structure without a NYC address isn’t what I’m talking about. I’m talking about non metropolitan or rural. Not places where people burn fossil fuels so they can pretend they don’t live in NYC.

Not sent active cases to nursing homes would have been nice.

The ventilator fiasco is another obvious one. He was still bloviating about how many he needed when this Nebraska farmer was already educating so called health professionals on their over use and mis use. He should have access to much better information than I, yet he was way behind the curve either from incompetence, willful ignorance, or intentional political posturing. Resources should have been directed in other areas much sooner.

It's amazing to discover that research tends to lead to updating knowledge, hey. You would have thought that the CDC would have known everything there is to know about the virus right at the beginning

I asked what he should have done, not what he should not have done, , specifics please, not "Resources should have been directed in other areas much sooner"

I know what I've done to protect society, my friends and family. Your comment I put supermarket staff at risk where I am in BC by picking up groceries outside the store is absurd.
No, you don't even deal with my comments about the economy and politics where I have genuine expertise. There's no penetrating a block of wood.
The last time I was in the United States was early March, and then for just 30 min. to visit a particular store. As the virus was spreading in BC, my wife and I kept our distance from everyone for a month.
    Republicans like this idiot...

    7F2DF539-D4D5-45A3-A49E-7B880110C39E.gif

... are destroying small business by not helping them survive the drop in consumer demand.
Do you think enough people are prepared to go out and spend money to keep small businesses alive?

    BFBCD1A2-4FC7-47CE-80A5-0F73636E71F5.jpeg

The only way to save these businesses is to get the number of new cases down to a level people are comfortable shopping unless we give the businesses enough support to pay their creditors. President Clorox can't get people out spending, but he can get them out to buy food and go to work (or look for work) by limiting help for their employer to mothball operations and keep them on the payroll.
I didn't 'flee' Oregon because I also live in Canada and was in BC at the time the virus became a pandemic. My wife and I chose to stay in BC because of Trump's idiotic public comments about the virus.
I didn't say you eat road kill. You said you don't wear a mask. The only clue about you living in the country was your comment about adding to a meat supply without going to a store. You either have animals you slaughter and/or hunt.

That's absurd. SARS and MERS were controlled without herd immunity.
Don't underestimate people who live in urban areas. I grew up in the country, married the daughter of a Missouri farmer who volunteered for WW2 and became a test pilot, and lived with my wife across from a dairy farm for more than a decade. I know both types of life.
You're wrong because my wife and I have been quite responsible in our actions and involvement with other people.
    :deadhorse:
I want President Clorox to use the Defense Production Act to make effective PPE available to everyone, but especially to frontline workers, folks with health problems, and older adults.
You might educate yourself what happened to farmers and farm income during the Depression. Then you might hope you're wrong about containing the virus.

Is there some point to your comment?
I'm talking about what we should do NOW.
    Trump is walking pond scum.
I bet you don't even know why your comment is nonsense.
But not too late to help elsewhere.
MAGA is slogan, not a program, about duping people into supporting Trump.

Masks don't do much outside of making one look like a hypochondriatic doofus. Hospital staff sometimes wear masks, but not to stop a virus.

Science does not concern itself with what is "moral" or "immoral".

    No it doesn't.

That the "rice-a-rona" isn't anything special. There are numerous other viruses/bacteria spreading from person to person as we speak, yet those don't "require a mask" to "stop", but this one does? Those are nothing to be concerned about, but the "rice-a-rona" IS?

    What pandemic?

    That's what you're doing.

Calling out your logical fallacies IS making an argument.

Appeal to Experts Fallacy. Experts don't make arguments correct.

    Already addressed ad nauseum.

How is that "fearmongering"? That is quite literally advocating that there is NOTHING TO FEAR regarding this rice-a-rona virus. It is quite literally the OPPOSITE of fearmongering. Fearmongering is what YOU are doing, claiming that there is something TO fear when there actually isn't.

    1. Masks don't reduce risk of contracting rice-a-rona.
    2. Viruses pass through pores akin to how water passes through pores.
    3. Viruses transfer from hand to body in more ways than through one's mouth. Masks don't stop viruses from getting onto your hands.
    4. No it isn't. Not everyone wears a mask 24/7/365.

    Why must you fear monger?

The deaths themselves are not made up. The cause of many of those deaths (to be covid-19 as opposed to what actually killed the person) IS being made up.

Coronaviruses are not new. SARS is not new. It is not "highly contagious". Most of the world hasn't even contracted it yet (according to WHO numbers)

Don't wear masks, don't wear gloves, don't social distance... go to church, go to the store, go to restaurants, go to sporting events, etc. etc...

It's worked for many years now. Why not anymore?

Then wear N100 respirators with HEPA filters around everywhere 24/7/365 and see how that works out for ya...

I'm not telling you what to do. If you want to wear a mask, go for it. I'm just telling you that it won't stop the virus.

Just stop trying to force me to wear one.

Ok. He should have gone on extended vacation to the Bahamas. He should have done nothing. That would have been preferable. He should have directed resources to anywhere but ventilators when it was common knowledge he didn’t need 40,000 of them. Pick something. Donuts for cops doing extra duty. Masks for his family members. :)

The best thing probably would have been for him to step aside and let someone competent manage the state. Is that specific enough?

So doing nothing would have resulted in less deaths in NY according to you? "If Cuomo was in charge of Japan they would be dying like flies in Japan. I’m just thankful I live in a place where our intelligence mirrors that of Asian countries instead of NY politicians." Intelligence!

I guess you're upset about my comment refuting your claim (see above).

No one would wear a respirator day and night. There are respirators people can wear when around SARS-CoV-2.

You didn't refute my claim. Viruses can get through N100 masks just as easily as they can get through N95 masks. You are apparently unaware of the specs of an N100 mask as well.

Like I said, wear one if you want to, if it allows your mind to "feel safer". I'm just telling you that you actually aren't any safer by doing so. In fact, wearing masks could even be worse for some people, as they can be uncomfortable and can cause headaches.
