The revolutionary Left has always tried to mobilize black Americans as a sacrificial revolutionary vanguard. It has never worked very well. Hence the revolutionary Left's contempt for black Americans at least since the early 20th century. “In an editorial titled ’******s and Night Riders” Eastman [Editor of The Masses] looked forward to the day when an American Toussaint L’Ouverture would lead an uprising and demand respect in the name of power.” ART FOR THE MASSES, A Radical Magazine and Its Graphics, 1911-1917, Rebecca Zurier, Temple University Press, 1988., p. 91.
No, they won't. Protesters and rioters are different people and have different agendas. Protesters will protest and the rioters will continue rioting. Remember Ferguson?
Stop killing black men in streets. Watch LivePD. It's obvious as good be that one race is treated differently than the other.
Rioters seem to outnumber the protesters. Probably stole all the electronics in that area, gonna have to relocate tonight.
You like to 'broad-brush' with generalities and slogans? Good... I have a similar rejoinder for you: Maybe "black men" shouldn't be trying to pass counterfeit money in stores! THAT was the origin of this entire situation in the first place! And now the follow-on statement... the cops are being charged with crimes and will be put on trial -- a very good and necessary thing, and if found guilty, they'll be punished according to LAW. Will any of the rioters, thieves, and arsonists...? NOT likely....
I read somewhere that the charge is murder 3 or manslaughter 2. Section B definitely doesn’t apply. Section A - prosecutors will face challenges proving “depraved mind” part. During trials each word of the law the defendant is accused of breaking is scrutinized and this part is a ticket for plea bargain and reduction in charges. Compare to Manslaughter 2: https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/609.205 Manslaughter 2 fits perfectly. If I was the juror and watched the video I wouldn’t need to hear any arguments from prosecution or defense to convict the cop with manslaughter 2. I didn’t see “depraved mind” as the cop seemed calm and totally in control of self when he was strangling Floyd, therefore proving it to other jurors would be a challenge. But in MN anyone charged with murder can be convicted with manslaughter of any degree, so I don’t think a murder charge will result in this cop walking away.
So what did the taxpayer actually get for the Billions spent for "Great Society" programs? Since you claim we only partly dealt with the problem, how much more money do you want to spend and what do you propose to spend it on? And who is "we?" Is "we" the Democratic Party local governments who run the urban areas where riots are taking place? Is "we" the black voters that keep voting for these Democrats?
I was thinking the same thing. Next, we will hear that his death was really his own fault and caused by bad choices -- like choosing to have heart disease etc. BTW: Anyone who thinks heart disease caused this: I recently talked to one of our graduates who became a heart transplant surgeon: They usually don't transplant donor hearts from people over 45-50, because ALL of them have plaque. So, if you are over 50 and a cop would have done the same thing to you, you may have also died of the underlying condition of a bad heart. Think about this before absolving the cop of blame.
Who is defending the riots? I’m just telling you why they’re rioting. Until you understand why, you can prevent the riots.
Have the arrested policeman followed his Department's policy? For if he has, Police Department's Commissioner should be on the stand, and not the cop.
Wherever the Felony Murder Rule exists when a victim of a felony dies as a result of felony the rule applies - capital murder. For instance, if a robber says "Stickem Up!" and an the victim has a heart attack and dies it becomes capital murder. May not apply in MN.
I dunno if it is department policy or an authorized option or not . . . I just noted that nobody from CNN to Fox News ever bothered to ask.
Alot of people are living with heart disease for decades, so I don't think it can be reasonably concluded that the actions in the video are not the reason for his death.
Thank you for this analysis of the governing statutes. But, the truth is that if all four of these now-former cops are found guilty of anything less than FIRST-DEGREE MURDER, the same SJW mobs who are destroying, pillaging, burning, and stealing everything they can lay their hands on will not (NOT) be 'satisfied' -- and after the cops' trials are over, these same contingents of gutter-trash will be back out on the streets, doing the same things as before! They aren't really interested in 'justice'. No. They want someone to bribe them to make them stop rioting, looting, pillaging, and wrecking -- it's a quid pro quo process that's been going on between many different American federal and state governments and their Black 'communities' since the 1960's!
I disagree. The autopsy results should have been seen before charges were brought. Cause of death is significant here. An arrest was made before a complete investigation was conducted all to placate those who have fallen for a phony narrative of "blacks being murdered by cops".
I honestly don't know what the "Solution" might be, I don't even know if the "Solution" is possible. Mandate the cops to handle African-American suspects with kids' gloves? Would you like that? I'm gonna look up how widespread this restraining technic is in Minneapolis and nationwide... would you happen to know?
These riots were an objective of the "Great Society". The progressive movement in the US has consistently worked to destroy the black American family, culture and community.
Policy or an authorized option is the same in this case, and since nobody is asking this question... the technique has to be in the Department's arsenal
