We have a functional healthcare system. Our infrastructure is not rotten to the core. USA has lowest life expectance, highest child mortality in western world. In security index USA is place 121 from 158 countries, Germany is rank 15.

USA has no functional law system, no functional police.

And that flawed system more and more gets visible. The world sees how US healthcaresystem faltered under Covid-19. The world sees Trump as a clown. The world laughs about him. Trumps behavior fills the comedy in Germany and western europe. Its first time an american president is laughed at. In foreign politics USA plays no role. Its on a downward spiral.

All those flaws always existed but could be hidden behind courage. But now the veil falls and the clown shows that there is nothing.

I always wonder if persons like you wonder why all allies turn away from you? And why this happens now.

Good, let them thousands of U.S. Troops spend their money on American soil. Screw those ungrateful NATO basturds that have been taking advantage of the US and short funding NATO for decades. We’ve been kissing the world’s butt for way too long spending trillions.

Poland could use the troops. If Germany wants more active duty troops on their soil, they can encourage Germans to enlist.

 

Shows how little you know. It doesnt make any difference if your troops are stationed in Germany or Poland. Infact of you station them in Poland, from strategic point of view, we have same or even higher security as before, since Poland is between Germany and Russia. That way in case of conflict the fighting is on polish soil. Meanwhile we can reduce our defense spending basicly on zero and can build luxury apartments on the empty bases.


But that aside, there is no danger anyways, we have no enemies. But you bring up ideas that would screw you even further.

So, if the US left NATO, the US would cease getting involved in the Middle East on Saudi Arabia and Israel's side, would stop its alliances with South Korea and Japan, and generally stop having any national security interests in SE Asia? Or the Arctic? The US would close down its bases throughout Europe, Central Asia, SE East, South Asia, Africa, South America, Central America, etc?

This ridiculous myth by ignorant, uneducated American peasants that the only reason for US high defense budget is because of "free-loading" European countries, hinges on a complete rejection of the fact that the US has national security/economic interests in countries throughout the world, that it uses its military to maintain. It is maintaining hegemonic power, not because "Europe" or anyone else asks for it, but because by creating and furthering overseas alliances - or dependencies in case of regimes that would fall if you didn't prop them up - you are keeping afloat a system that massively benefits US economic and national interests. That's been the intent from day one.

It's precisely the same strategy every single other major power has employed before the US.

You try to get influence over evry single regional hegemon. Germany in Europe. Brazil in South America. In Middle East you failed. You never had interest in Saudi Arabia, it was your 2nd choice, because the hegemon of that region is Iran. When the Shah felt and you were kicked out, you chose Saudi Arabia as option B. That backfired. Saudi Arabia is an artifical country while Iran is the hegemon for millenia. You try to create an artificial balance and thats why its so fragile. It needs your constante support to hold, because you try to stand against the natural order there.

Withdrawing all U.S. forces and access to bases in Germany would probably cost the U.S. a great deal MORE in defense spending.

Because without the bases such as Ramstein, the U.S. would have to spend a great deal more on air and sea transport assets in order to retain the same capability.

 

Its also good behavior to be honest. I dont care about the US anthem nor does it mean anything to me.
