Sorry but that argument does not add up.

1. He was unarmed, the officers had already frisked him, they knew he had no weapons on him. That is on the officer's own body camera video.
2. The Taser had discharged, it was done. Not only is a Taser not a deadly weapon, but a discharged Taser is a useless lump of plastic.
3. Two officers against one unarmed drunk.
4. Shot twice in the back. As in not attacking anyone, he was running away. He should not have run, but that crime does not carry a death sentence.

 

Because "fix families" is so easy.

It is the solution though. Instead the left chooses to blame others and ignores the obvious solution staring them in the face. However, the left doesn't benefit politically from 'fixing the family' so no effort is put into it.

At no point were the officers able to frisk the suspect, therefore people claiming he was unarmed is horseshit.

He could have had a gun.

What I do know is that if we (as a society) continue to defund, discourage or punish Police work, the end result is going to be far, FAR worse.

We have drug cartels setting up shop in America and the violence is only going to escalate. People who think Police are THE problem, in general are the problem.

"The American black ...?" That phraseology is "awkward", to put it euphemistically. Would you ever say "The American white ..."? I should hope not. I don't mean to be rude, but seriously, that sounds like something that would be said by a narrator on The Discovery Channel when referring to a hippo or rhinoceros (not a person).

President Obama is African-American, not African. As I've said before, I have been married to a Ghanaian (culturally, racially and ethnically) who is British based on his country of birth for decades. So, technically he is Afro-Brit but his ancestors have lived in Ghana for generations and he was raised there. So, he is also African. Having an African father doesn't make you African, when you didn't grow up there and are a different nationality. Our children are not African. They are African-American like their mother and Obama's father didn't even raise him or take him to Africa as a child. My children have visited Africa and England on family vacations because some of their fathers relatives live in both regions but they have no accent and are American culturally and nationally.

My point is that I am familiar with multiple cultures and I don't agree with your assessment. I have been to a Nigerian wedding in the U.S. My friend (and former co-worker) wouldn't have invited me if he hated African-Americans. When I was much younger another African lady who worked with me at an office tried to mentor me. She wouldn't have done that if she hated me. Decades later, I have a neighbor who is an African woman who has invited me to hang out with her and vacation with her. No hate there ... Where did I get my zeal for education and my ambition? I was always praised for academic achievements and hard work by my African-American parents.

Some Africans view African-Americans askance because they only know negative stereotypes that they have heard (and vice versa). Other Africans and African-Americans have a positive, curious attitude about each other. My husband met me when we attended the same HBCU (for my first degree) when I was 19 years old. We waited until I graduated at 22 to get married. Guess what the Africans from Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, (etc.), Trinidadians, Dominicans, Jamaicans, Afro-French, Afro-Brits, African-Americans, and blacks from other parts of the diaspora co-existed as friends. My Trinidadian friend played matchmaker and introduced me to my husband. I am close friends with her to this day. My spouses dad was Assistant Dean of the College of Pharmacy. Obviously, he worked side by side with African-American faculty and administrators.

I was quiet, respectful, smart and cute and his African parents had no problem with me. So, I know that there can be tension between blacks who are from different geographical regions because of cultural differences but I am not the one who is going to buy that Africans hate African-Americans. That is too strong of a word. When my children graduate from high school and college, they get authentic Kente cloth stoles to wear from their father (it's also an African-American tradition to wear the cloth at ceremonies) and you can bet that their African-American mother is more responsible for their academic achievement than their African father. He provided the money for me to stay at home with them for a little over a decade when they were young but I was very good at educating them and he confidently left me to lead that endeavor.

Immigrants, in general, are hardworking because they have left their countries, cultures and in some cases families behind in pursuit of success. The slackers in their home countries wouldn't have bothered, so you are comparing a high achieving subset of immigrants with all the rest. Some of them come to our country with money that they receive from their governments to help start business. That's what I was told about many of the Arabs who owned businesses in my city.

 

Every time I watch than BodyCam Vid, one thing becomes more clear:

Those cops were a couple of real idiots who did not deserve badges.

They might take the cake for being a couple of total jerks.

Especially in the current Post-George Floyd Era.

Both should be immediately terminated, charged, and never be allowed to serve as a cop again.

you are not allowed to steal from civilians, disobey lawful orders, and steal law enforcement weapons from active duty officers in America.

in countries like africa the poor are allowed to steal because they have laws to accommodate their oppression, but since obama is not President those laws are no longer applicable in America.

Are you kidding? A cop turns a non-violent incident into a hysterical situation and winds up shooting an unarmed man in the back and you think there was some justification?
If the cops hadn't shown up, there would have been no incident, no hysterics, no violence and no murder.
This is why people want to defund the police. Not every situation requires a hammer intent on bashing an uppity nail. Too many cops are cowards with guns who are unfit for the job.

As someone who’s lost a family member to a drunk driver, I think the death penalty for driving drunk is exceptional penalty! Stop ****ing drinking and driving.

It would have been best to have listened to reason in the first place and not destroyed them. But it’s what you and others wanted. I have a lot of sympathy for the kids in these situations. But none for the instigators. You want to take the easy route and then whine when the results aren’t the same as for those that took the initially harder responsible route. Instant gratification and delayed gratification are different paths that lead to very different places.

Your mistake is you are also assuming blacks commit crimes at the same rate as whites.

So when a drunk black man resists arrest steals a stun gun and shoots it at a cop what can they do to stop now? The guy already put the public in danger by driving drunk so strike 1. Then he steals a cops weapon. Strike 2. Then run and shoots at the cops. Strike 3.

This is guy is dead BECAUSE HE MADE 4 bad choices. He was drunk driving so he’s a scumbag, plus the 3 listed above so he’s stupid too. I guess cops just have to let violent Black people go now? All this is doing is emboldening people to resist more because cops can’t even do their jobs anymore.
