I believe I saw this on "the News" with video.
He was non violently subdued, and while being cuffed made
a break for it - grabbing an officer's taser.

If One Is Being Cuffed and Decides to Make A Break for It -

    BAD DECISION!

And That's The Way It Is, And Ought To Be!

Then they should've shot him up then, not once he was turned around and running away. By that point he wasn't a danger still.

Don't even bother. TOG will repeat and repeat that same line "what's your point" and totally ignore THE point, just like any good Trumpster. He's done it in other threads and will continue to do this in the future when he can't argue the facts.

    Another lost soul...........................

Yes but these officers are supposed to be highly trained. Ask yourself......how does two armed police officers, highly trained, get their a$% kicked and their weapon taken away by one drunk man? How does training allow for that? My thought would be one man does the cuffing. (That is done a lot) and the other covers him with a taser. It seems that would be an effective way. If he resists, drop him to his knees. It could all be on police camera. See, I'm not attacking the police. I think they could save us a lot of grief instead of rolling around on the ground like Laurel and Hardy That was the problem in how it was handled. The way it turned out was legal the way it appeared. Legal but avoidable.

What????? At that point he was a felon for attacking police officers. He aimed and fired a weapon at them and they beat him to the draw. Clear cut and simple if that is what I saw on tape.

He was still armed after taking a shot at the cops. He could have turned and fired again. He was a fleeing felon.

A non lethal weapon... And a one shot one also. He was fleeing, so no longer a threat.

All these years I've been taking an Uber to avoid the hassles of a DUI only to find out that I can fight my way free, escape and get it downgraded to public intoxication?
    Nice!

    Fleeing. Felon.
Here. I'll Google it for you.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fleeing_felon_rule
    https://www.ncjrs.gov/App/Publications/abstract.aspx?ID=101500
On appeal, the Sixth Circuit Court held that the law constitutes an unreasonable seizure of person and a deprivation of life without due process. It listed three situations in which deadly force would be justified as a last resort: the police suspect the felon of committing a violent crime, have probable cause to believe the suspect was armed, and believe the suspect would endanger the lives of others if allowed to escape.

Not a non lethal weapon and had shots remaining. Proof? He shot it at officers. You could see it on the tape. They returned fire. He lost. He was a fleeing felon. Had to serve seven years for beating his children. Paroled for China Virus with one previous DUI. Did he deserve to die? No.....but that was on him.

Didn't know they saw him driving. Apparently he already had one DUI and was on parole for beating his kids. Don't think an Uber would help you there!

I dont believe you have to be seen, just inside the car with keys is adequate for charges. A friend of a friend had that happened to her many years ago here in Florida. I also assume the car was running, but whatever.

    Thank You

    Get it it or . . . .

    No Canada-1.jpg
Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic,
regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.

    Ask Yourself!

Surrendering to being cuffed and making a "break for it".

What should a reasonable (police) person do

in the heat of the moment.

There is no evidence . . . racism was a factor.

We've all seen the film of this incident...watched it over and over....
Some people suggest....well...I would have done this...I would have done that....
The cops should have done this...or that....
Easy sitting in our lounge chairs analysing everything...
In a split second, the offender runs and turns and points a taser at the cop...
How does the cop know its a taser....it could have been a gun....all in a split
    second.....
Everything is easy sitting in our lounge chairs, sipping a coffee....making a judgment call....
Cops make a split second decision when they see something pointed at them...
    And then they react instantly....
    Try it yourself sometime......

That's where repetitive training comes in. What a I going to do when such and such happens.

I don't need training, I already know I'm not resisting and running from the cops.

Let me train others, free of charge, "dont resist and run from the cops"

This has been a public service message
