What am I talking about? Give YOUR money before extorting it from others.

Please show me where poor people create jobs. Who would pay for their R&D or prototyping costs for a product? Or the packaging, the marketing, the distribution...and the billing?

Trickle down not only works, it's systemic. Welcome to capitalism.

Why would taking from those who have and giving to those who don't do any good?

I guarantee you that the "have nots" won't be grateful.

The wealthy pay most of the taxes. What have you done to deserve what they earn? And like someone pointed out, there are a lot of people on this earth who would love to have what you have. Send them part of your earnings.

Someone earlier on another thread was complaining about the blue states paying more taxes than the red states. That is because the blue states have higher incomes than the red states. On one hand, you want the wealthy to pay more taxes and then on the other hand some on the left want the higher income in the blue states to pay less taxes.

That was the intent of the tariff war. Get the tariffs back on an even playing field.

When I started working it was a little over 5 dollars an hour now it's ten. It's gone up almost 50% in my lifetime
It never will. It can't. The more dollars in circulation the lower it's value this the more it's going to inflate. It's the simple law of supply and demand.
So Obama did good things for the economy? Like what?

Again you don't understand business it's not about patriotism it's about money. And if I can make better money manufacturing in another country send it makes no sense to do it in the US. Making it cost more will drive more away.

Penalizing us manufacturers for manufacturing in the US is exactly why we have outsourcing.

but you can't. Where are all the steel manufacturers? They just left in there's nothing in the US now. They can't compete with the Chinese. If they could they would.

So no you're wrong business is not about patriotism it's about money.
false socialism is trying to destroy capitalism. You carry on about patriotism because you don't understand business.

The problem with the economy is caused by the shutdown which is governors, mostly Democrats and they should be voted out.

If you ever watched a few episodes of the TV show Undercover Boss you quite often would have seen that the Boss frequently COULD NOT successfully perform the job of an employee working for them. Very often they struggled to do the job they supposedly were there to perform.
So the idea of the employee not being able to do the CEO job also works the other way too.

Any corporation like Disney who could afford to pay their CEO $65 Million per year could afford to pay thousands of their employees a few bucks more per hour and pay him a few million less. They are the ones actually running the show on a daily basis not him.

Yeah most people would probably struggle to do concrete work you wouldn't know this until you try it. but the people who have been doing it for a couple of years have built up this skill in the stamina it takes to do that job. I wouldn't expect the construction Foreman to be able to just go right to busting up concrete one day. Even if that's where they started out.

Entry level jobs are entry level, they aren't something you do for a career.

If the employees of Disney aren't getting paid enough they don't have to work there.

Question to you all: How much of this unhappiness do you believe is due to economic factors? How much of this unhappiness do you believe is due to coronavirus pandemic caused issues?

How much of this unhappiness do you believe is due specifically to economic factors caused by the coronavirus pandemic shutdown?

I think very little is related to economics, and it predates coronavirus so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

I think it has to do with people having nothing to strive for nothing to work for.
