You realize there’s a group which has taken over the police precinct and city hall within a 6 block radius of a major American city and they’re trying to do it in other places. Right?

 

Hmm.. store fronts, rioting and looting didn't do it for you? In today's world, what is the difference between burning a cross on your yard, and lighting up twitter or other social media intimidating folks that BLM folks don't agree with? When these folks run around destroying the monuments put there so that folks won't forget the past, and why the past might have been bad, what does that say? For lots of it, it says they are going to destroy the place. These folks intend to wipe away their collective history so no one can remember that it was actually democrats who were the problem.

 

Yeah they are losing the battle of ideas and just shrieking like a trapped animal, this isn't a triumphant war cry it's a death moan.

No? Don't you believe in the idea that having a statue of Jefferson out there on the square reminds us that he was both a founder of our nation, but he also was a product of his time, and his slave holdings demonstrate to us how flawed those times were. As for mr Davis, creating monuments to him reminds us of that bad ideas and anger cause horrific damage to the nation. No? His statue doesn't remind us of his greatness, but his willingness to throw the nation into disrepair, and the number of folks who had to give up their lives to remediate it. When I look at places like Ft Hood, and Ft lee, I see places named in irony to make the folks who live and work there or reside around remember that from their ashes, the greatness of our military overcame them.

 

Well, I suppose that is more than some.

 

How bout the monument to George Washington they knocked down, draped a flag over and set it on fire?
