ANd if people refuse to wear masks because they aren't manadory?

    Ehh...no problem?

You're seeing the results of that policy and it ain't pretty.

Weren't you just telling us the other day that the 4,000 infections was the result of some kind of lag in reporting? That Abbott had it all under control?

Does it ever bother you to be so blatantly wrong?

Yes, there was a lag in reporting last week or week before. There was one county with a nursing home which had over 130 cases. Prison cases are rising.

And now.....drum roll....many major cities across the country are seeing spikes in 20-30 year old cases from a month of George Floyd protests.

Yeah, back when Trump had the Task Force doing daily briefings, Dr. Birx said that anyone testing positive at the time of death is counted as a "Covid death". That's when I thought, "Pffffttt!"

Only if he makes obesity illegal. Obesity is the number one preventable cause of death. Obesity is responsible for 600,000 deaths per year. If you’re obese you go to jail. Holy crap!!! Where do we jail 130 million fat asses?

I will never forget New York’s very first COVID19 blamed death. It was an 82 year old female with emphysema. I’m sure the 60 years of smoking had nothing to do with her death.

Well that "one time blip from late reporting" was followed by HIGHER numbers in the days following.

YOU are in the middle of the hot zone honey. Wear your mask and only go where others are doing so also or you're gonna get it

Death rates for COVID-19 in New York City as of June 24, 2020, by age group (per 100,000 people)

    Rate per 100,000 people
    0-17 years......................................0.69
    18-44 years..................................20.54
    45-64 years................................192.51
    65-74 years................................630.94
    75 years and older..................1,574.29

Comparing COVID19 death statistics above to the US mortality rate below one can conclude that COVID19 is nothing more than the common flu. 18,000 out of 100,000 age 75 and older die every year from life and 1,574 out of 100,000 die from COVID19. So COVID19 is responsible for 8.3% of all the deaths for people over the age of 75. Using the same graphs we can conclude that COVID19 is responsible for 5% of all deaths for people under the age of 45. So combining the two age groups we can see that even with this “pandemic” you still have a 94% chance of dying from other than COVID19.

Are hospitals using COVID-19 causes of death as financial incentives?
    Anna Denton
    6/3/2020
ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A big topic of discussion during the pandemic has been the cause of death listed on many patients’ death certificates.

“There's a lot of controversy about how many cases are actually attributed to COVID,” said Dr. David Holcombe, medical director of the Cenla Office of Public Health.

Many family members of those who have passed away in recent months have claimed that doctors have falsely listed the cause of death as COVID-19.

“The number of deaths related to COVID are probably underestimated, not overestimated,” Holcombe said.

Many saying this is because hospitals receive money for each virus death, but Holcombe says that “the hospitals are not using this as an incentive to earn more money.”

The CARES Act does provide money to hospitals for each patient whose cause of death is COVID-19, but although many hospitals have taken a financial hit during the pandemic, that money is not intended to be used for the hospitals themselves.

“The money will actually go to the hospitals because it's reimbursement,” Holcombe explained. “But it actually defends the clients from being left with a huge bill that they can't possibly assume. And through no fault of their own.”

It also creates the question: what should be on the death certificate of someone with pre-existing conditions who was also diagnosed with the virus?

“Having COVID on there [death certificate] if the person was COVID positive, there's nothing actually wrong with that,” Holcombe said. “Actually determining the cause of death - the cause of death may have been respiratory failure associated with COVID and so forth. So, it becomes a contributing factor anyway. So, there's nothing actually wrong with that if it allows for some additional reimbursements.”

If you can’t beat covid, you aren’t of much use to society anyway. Let the virus run it’s course and the fittest get to survive. It will reduce greenhouse gasses and global warming, rush hour traffic, internet bandwidth, lines in the grocery store, lines in the DMV, demand on toilet paper, demand on our reservoirs, lakes and rivers, demand on welfare and abortion clinics. I’m seeing covid as Mother Nature saying there are too many people on the planet and a big reduction is in order.

You can not claim that the predictions by experts in healthcare are "doom and gloom.

    They are predictions.

    They have been VERy accurate.

The problem is Trump's happy talk. That has been MONUMENTALLY FALSE, and has been used to purposefully defeat a rational approach to protection AND to opening our economy safely.

How can you possibly justify choosing Trump bald faced lies and fabrications over predictions that are solid enough for necessary decision making?

Why would you support opening our economy in an unsafe manner when there is a PLAN for how to do it safely right on whitehouse.gov?

You have some 'splain'n to do.

Problem could be a new mutation in the virus between March and last month. The "spikes" are more stable making the virus more infectious. We won't know how that impacts the death rates for another few weeks. Usually, when viruses become more infectious, they also become less deadly, but we'll see what happens next.

    https://www.scripps.edu/news-and-ev...2-choe-farzan-coronavirus-spike-mutation.html

"In February, no sequences deposited to the GenBank database showed the D614G mutation. But by March, it appeared in 1 out of 4 samples. In May, it appeared in 70 percent of samples, Farzan says.

“Over time, it has figured out how to hold on better and not fall apart until it needs to,” Farzan says. “The virus has, under selection pressure, made itself more stable.”

It is still unknown whether this small mutation affects the severity of symptoms of infected people, or increases mortality, the scientists say."

Food consumption is only about 20% of the problem. Lack of exercise is the majority. Get your heart rate up to 140-160 for 30 minutes every day and you can eat just about anything.
