    Donald Trump knows he's losing.
    The president has privately come to that grim realization in recent days, multiple people close to him told POLITICO, amid a mountain of bad polling and warnings from some of his staunchest allies that he's on course to be a one-term president.
    Trump has endured what aides describe as the worst stretch of his presidency, marred by widespread criticism over his response to the coronavirus pandemic and nationwide racial unrest. His rally in Oklahoma last weekend, his first since March, turned out to be an embarrassment when he failed to fill the arena.

    Wow. Trump ALREADY Knows that he is headed to a catastrophic defeat and that he is a One-Term President.

    Do you agree with Trump's own assessment?

    Personally, I am glad to hear that Trump is being realistic about his prospects in the Fall.
    I feel that Trump's early acceptance of inevitable will make it much easier for Trump to come to grips with his CERTAIN Loss.

    And it's not Biden who is defeating Trump as Biden stays more or less hidden, it's Trump defeating Trump by his ineptitude, massive lying, not accepting responsibility for the mess he has allowed to unfold and most of all for his greed, narcissism and sociopathy. But we will get another Trump down the road and one who will be even more dangerous because he might actually have brains, if we don't get rid of the establishment Dems along with the GOP. They are all culpable for laying the groundwork which enabled a Trump rise to power.

    In essence the Covidiot-in-Chief has 4 months to turn everything around.

    Yup!

    Can the Covidiot-in-Chief do it?

    That is the 64k question and it would mean changing his messaging, his demeanor, his focus and his impulsiveness.

    Messaging can be changed but the Covidiot-in-Chief sounds stilted when he is READING what others wrote.

    His demeanor can be changed with COACHING but that means being willing to learn new things when he is convinced that he is never wrong in the first place so he doesn't need to change one iota. Let's call this one a heavy lift for whomever takes it on. Jared?

    His focus is ALWAYS on HIMSELF and this is probably going to be virtually IMPOSSIBLE to change. Technically it is possible but making it happen is an even heavier lift. Jared?

    It was the ex governor of NJ who used the baseball metaphor about the Covidiot-in-Chief by saying that he "swings at everything" which is another way of describing his impulsiveness. Can this behavior be UNLEARNED? Short of CONFISCATING his phone I don't see this happening but why not try it because what has he got to lose? Jared?

    The article did mention the Covidiot-in-Chief stepping aside and allowing someone else become the nominee instead. A deal where Pence agrees to PARDON him for his track record of FEDERAL crimes could be in the offing. However it would mean that the Covidiot-in-Chief would have to acknowledge that he is NOT up to the job first and foremost and I don't know if he has that level of insight and if he is ever honest with himself about himself. OTOH if his family intervened it might happen. Jared?

    Speculating about this scenario is interesting but I suspect that it will take something significant for it happen and while anything can happen in the next 4 months it is worth noting that once the GOP convention nominates him as their candidate then the doe is cast so the timeline is a lot shorter than it looks for this to be resolved one way or the other.

    Do you really not get that all the people responding this way are making fun of this thread? This is a joke. Even a die-hard lefty in the very first response pointed it out. This is garbage.

    Not only is it garbage, but it's garbage from AJ who ALWAYS attacks the website where the information was posted even if the information is from somewhere else. This is literally from 'unnamed sources'. AJ will be the first to attack anybody who posts an article from any right leaning site even if there's video proof in the article.

    This is pure hypocrisy from the OP and everybody is making fun of it. It isn't that there's no counter argument, it's that there's nothing to counter.

    Do you really not get that there are a lot of what’s out is s going on because Trump knows he is going to lose and once that self confidence is gone he will no longer look left Ike a “winner” and it will accelerate down

    His approval rating is currently just over 40%

    That's true. I do get a sense, though, that trump himself is trying to lose the election. His actions are bizarre. Why bring up killing obamacare yet again in the middle of a pandemic with millions out of work and in dire straits medically?
    It doesn't even make sense.
    I suspect that the fun of being potus is gone for trump and he isn't looking forward to another 4 years of having to work and be held accountable in a thankless job.
    He can do a lot better for himself out of office and keep milking his worshippers from now til doomsday and get the mindless adulation he craves without the criticism.
    He's already made his name in the history books, so he may leave while the getting's good.
    He really was never fit to be potus.
