Kansas State University athletes are threatening to sit out games this season unless the school disciplines a student who disparaged George Floyd, a black man who died after police kneeled on his neck for nearly nine minutes.

Jaden McNeil, the president and founder of the school’s America First student organization, tweeted out a comment congratulating Floyd “on being drug free for an entire month!

In response to the insult, several KSU athletes took to Twitter to demand justice.

Now McNeil was pretty insensitive but WTH we're all big boys and girls and life is rough so get over it. For the athletes who wouldn't play, ok by me. Kiss your scholarship away. End of story and move the F on with life.

What was "insensitive" was carrying his body across States in this country for a Kim Jong-like funeral for a criminal jackass who was lying while under arrest and his actions partially caused his own death.

There are literally thousands of people dying, without a criminal record and they couldn't get a funeral. Jackass was treated like the king of pop or something.

Sitting out games is legitimate protest. Getting cut from the team for refusal to play will be a big sacrifice that will really highlite their dedication and conviction.

I wonder what sort of punishment they demand the disparager suffer.

Congratulations on being the first to bring Trump into a thread that doesn't have anything to do with it.

They should not play then. I would ask if their position is final and then disband the team and take their scholarships. We will try again in a few years.

Universities are one of the last places that Free Speech should be punished.

His 1st amendment right to free speech isn't being punished. The Govt has not intervened in any way.

The left's newfound attitude seems to be we do what they want or they will blackmail us.

Blackmail? By refusing to play sports? so is it blackmail to refuse to watch the NFL if people kneel during the anthem?

If they do anything to the student, then they are out of line. It's a Public University. They are paid by our $.

And it's one of the greatest hypocrisies that we deal with and needs to be challenged. The GOVERNMENT must apply to the first amendment, but not the people. Let's take another example so you can see the hypocrisy: The Government may not murder, but the people can murder.(Actually, through warfare this is the other way around but it works.)

For a law, to be a law it must be applied universally. We citizens must not be able to censor others, if the government cannot. Through this citizen-censorship, it only takes enough of said censorship or censorship of a "popular" alternative figure to lead to revolts(which is what happened in the 20's in Europe.)

These citizens think they're defending democracy when in fact they are reviving the conditions that undermined democratic institutions.

Seems preferable to throwing him out of college for a tweet. That’s how being a dick has always worked in my life. Piss people off and they may wanna fight you. Maybe this MAGAtt will win.

Throwing him out of college is the new leftist way of fighting. NO debate or ostracizing just destroy, destroy, destroy. And if it got physical, in this climate, there would be 4 or 5 leftist aholes jumping on him.

How sad you don't support the freedom of speech of anyone who doesn't agree with you. If any athlete on a scholarship sits out they should lose that scholarship...
