All y'all need to crank it up a bit. The bird's nest is no longer portable. If you're going to advise me on the placement of the four Coreopsis, you'd better get going.

Pretty landscape and just look at that sky.
The fence is screaming for some oil though.

If you have two coreopsis in the center I would put one coreopsis on the left and one on the right. The middle bed seems to be the focal point I would fix it up first and then work on the outer beds..Just a thought.

What do you meanie ... " if she could still get in ".?
I was under the Impression this Pop stand was a bit different from
AllForums.A bit more less controlling and dominant.
I guess no one noticed that wording.
As in ... how can something be " a bit more less ".

While it may take a couple of years, it will move itself a couple of inches this way, and a couple of inches that way..... it's considered to be a 'ground cover', but a very polite one.

Early Sunrise Coreopsis only gets about 12-14 inches high, so that should be a good spot. Just a thought, since yellow and blue flowers are a wonderful combination, Campanula Carpatica slowly fills in and adds a wonderful contrast to the yellow. You just start with one or two plants, and in a couple years.... https://www.bluestoneperennials.com/CAPO

It should do well. It's supposed to need full sun, but I had one under the rhododendron for about fifteen years.

Nice. What is your secret for keeping grass/weeds from growing up through the mulch? I’ve tried chemicals (earth-friendly and, well, not so earth-friendly), black plastic under the mulch, you name it and it’s always a losing battle.

Thanks. I’m retired as well and we have a 600 square foot perennial garden that is the bane of my existence. I probably should have “thought small” when I dug up the bluegrass. The Rocky Mountain clay in my yard doesn’t help either.

I've noticed salt cedar needles kill everything. We keep them off our plants.

Butts he did turn craggy-looking as he got old.
I don't believe Hank Williams did.
Let alone Ferlin Husky until he was in his 80's.

I give.Because you don't wanna be the lone duck on the
block. With the biggest yard. Some neighborhoods are like that.
Ya always find one property owner who just can't help but
showoff. My Old man was that way.Just had to have a big property.
It was around 60 acres.Mostly alfalfa but about close to 10 acres of
cut lawn.Because that was his hobby. Not golf.Or bridge like me Mom.
But cutting lawn.Had a John Deere full size tractor for bushogging.
And somewhere around 4 lawn mowers.A nice John Deere tractor
plus a couple Bunton.Buntons are used around Louisville for golf courses.
He ended up trading his Big John Deere lawnmower { could mow in
reverse up a hill } for the New Shaft drive Cub cadet.Wouldn't allow me
to hunt during deer season but did for one of his Cocktail party buddies.
Had a huge gaggle of Quail in his long front yard that hung around
    a small pond.

I don't remember if I already posted these. I found some "before" pictures of the back yard.
