I can assure you that very few Canadians want their country to adopt the U.S. health care system.

The wealthy ones do. But they can always fly to get whatever treatment they want in the US and pay for it.

Canada's system is not perfect - by a long shot. But it provides care for ALL, when they need it.

There are some of us who actually know a Canadian first person. Exotic I know, but it does happen. ;)

You toss the word 'fear' out to marginalize the idea that there are people who understand that a 'one size fits all' approach to healthcare is actually 'one size fits the government best'.

If that is what you see as best for you, have at it. I'll pass, and continue as I have, and address as much of my healthcare needs with direct payments of cash, and minimal use of private insurance.

Most of my family live in Canada. So I do know, through them, the strengths and weaknesses of their system.

As for fear - I use it because I cannot seem to find a better one to replace it. What aspect of 'one size fits all' are you referring to with the Canadian system? Are there people who need something other than what is being offered?

Congratulations on your relatives, lovely country up there.

One size fit's all was your comment regarding 'American's fear socialized medicine'.

It depends on who you consider wealthy. I know some Canadians with many millions of dollars who use the Canadian health care system. Of course, they might use a foreign system if they had a potentially fatal disease where a cutting edge treatment is only available in that country.
    It does indeed.

It doesn't look good for Trump unless he changes course.

There has always been a cry for a two tiered system - so that the wealthy can have their own clinics.

No doubt Republicans are hoping Democrats throw themselves on their socialist sword and terminate everyone's private HC/HI plans.

While I obviously don't expect it to happen, myself and many others on the Right (including many Republicans, I'm sure) would be perfectly content to see the SCOTUS scuttle FullRetardCare and force both parties come up with a bipartisan piece of legislation that allows everyone to keep their private HC/HI plans, reduces costs, expands their options, etc., and most of all doesn't impose a dictatorial individual mandate on them.

They'll create "Medicare for all" and make it attractive enough most people will readily give up their private care.
Democrats won't go along with any plan that doesn't effectively subsidize care for lower- and middle-income Americans. Are Republicans ready to make it happen?

Getting captured by the enemy does not always make you a hero. Explain why McCain's family all high ranking military men had his military records sealed
