Trump criticizes NASCAR ban on Confederate flags and attacks Black driver, NFL and MLB teams

Trump demanded an apology from Bubba Wallace, when Wallace did not file any complaint, regarding a hoax, when the FBI confirmed that a noose did hang from his garage. Trump also attacked the NASCAR and multiple other professional sports for their decisions to ban the confederate flag and to potentially change a team name because of its offensive origin.

Trump has watched his poll numbers plummet, both nationally and within the battleground States, and his decision has been - time and time again - to double down and refocus his attention on those voters that already support him.

And to those who think that Trump can garner any additional support by raging against "cancel culture," I will remind you that the only people who trust trump on these social issues are the same exact voters who already support him.

 

I would also like to know if @struth , or any others, saw the most recent polling from the "trusted source" of Gallup, which found that Trump lost another point to his approval rating?

i did. nothing to worry about this poll was taken a week ago. His got 91 percent. of the GOP and a surprising 2 percent from dems for approval. The independence are a mixed bag some on how he handled the dem terrorist. i lot of people think he has been too easy.

Hmm that headline isn't anything in that tweet. Trump asked if Bubba apologized and stated a fact that between that and the flag ban it has hurt ratings. The reality is Nascar, because it's a southern sport, was called out and stigmatized as a bunch of racist. They banned the confederate flag due to pc culture and they over responded to the Bubba Wallace hoax, which in turn hurt the ratings with their fans and potential fans. That was his point and he's exactly right. Now the lefties are doing what they do every election year. Pander to blacks for votes and scream racist to everyone opposing them. It's a staple like apple pie in America. Soon we'll be hearing gun control since black lives matter is killing so many black children, another dem staple. African Americans will eat up their BS and we'll be right back here doing the same thing in 4 years regardless who wins because liberals run the cities and the educational system. They only care about that union vote so no change will ever happen, nor do they really want it too based on the results of their leadership in these metros.

Don't forget - we know that people in no short number are highly likely not to answer polls on race questions honestly out of fear of being the next victim of said cancel culture or similar; Bradley effect & reverse-Bradley effect. So there might be votes he's picking up on these issues that just cannot be predicted through polling.

But I think the President is taking the wrong approach to all of this. NASCAR, MLB, NFL, NBA, and so on, these are businesses and what does a business do? It strives to make money through selling any product it thinks people will buy. Race hate is a hot item right now, its this years #1 must-have item, just in time for Christmas election season.

None of these groups care about black lives, hell Black Lives Matter doesn't even care about black lives. Blacks slaughter on a literal daily basis and never once has any sporting league, or large company, or racial supremacy group, or race pandering politician ever said word one about this. A 6 year old black girl was just gunned down by a black protester inside of a black controlled cop-free protest zone just the other day. You would think this is the type of thing that would be PLASTERED all over every media outlet, and spoke of at length by every celebutard and influencer and verified nobody that social media has. But no, it got 2 hours on foxnews.com at best and that was the end of it because its not "newsworthy" its just ...sad to say, its just another victim of black on black violence to add to the list. No one cares, because no one has been told to care, because the people with the power to make that outrage happen see no profit in it. There's nothing to be gained by highlighting the black on black genocide, there's no deep pocket company to extort, there's no mass market of consumers to sell it to, and no one with a 'D' in front of their name ever won an election by trying to fix it much less acknowledge it even exists.

So I think Pres Trump should hit on that. Skip over the details of each individual incident; the flag bans, the kneeling, the jersey slogans, the name changes and so on.Instead he should strike at the common core that gives them traction; the the scam of using race hate to make money and gain power.

Why?

 

A) Your reading of his tweet is exceptionally narrow. He most certainly demanded the apology from Bubba and criticized NASCAR for their flag ban. A fact made all the more apparent because he referenced the only thing that matters to him, TV ratings, as the guide for whether they made the correct decision.

B) Why in the holy **** is that an important issue to Trump - especially during a pandemic? Why demand an apology from Bubba Watson? Why criticize NASCAR for banning the confederate flag? Hell, why can't Trump even take a stance on the confederate flag himself?

 

He is the President of the United States and his opinion influences millions of people. And the confederate flag is a symbol that he chose to directly comment upon when he criticized Nascar for their decision to ban the flag and when he repeatedly defended against tearing down Confederate Statutes because they are part of America's history.

 

What should he do?

 

I would suggest that he stop making racially charged positions a center piece of his re-election campaign and learn to at least come up with a coherent answer as to what is his agenda in the second term.
