Agents provocateurs were not new to European politics LONG before the concept reached America. Violence caused by hard leftists escalates everything accordingly whilst compliant apologists blame the right without evidence.

And I can only conclude that you support the atrocities that started this whole thing. Please don't bother defending them if you do, we've heard enough how a hand-cuffed man was such a dangerous foe that the police had to kneel on his neck for nearly 10 minutes while he pleaded for his life. Do you see good in gratuitous murder?

Why would leftists escalate situations that would only make themselves look bad. Conversely, why would rightists NOT try to do that to the left.

Why don't you just answer the question? Are you afraid that if you actually state what you think even YOU will see how silly what you propose is?

I refuse to acknowledge “BLM” as an organization. It’s just a meme and idea, which is sometimes misused and abused by those appropriating it.

I see a lot of groups labeling themselves “anti-racist” lately to push their agendas, which are often bigoted if not racist. This is why I refuse to cede terms to bigots.

    Okay?

    Okay.

I made no implication whatsoever of your concocted premise.

I have clearly stated I support peaceful protests, as part of the process for change. I do not support people who harm property, other people, steal, loot, and generally terrorize other people. If you cannot understand that statement, then it is you who needs to have comprehension of what words mean.

Either discuss honestly, or bow out. I have low tolerance for people who use their own words and try and tell me I said them.

I don't know of anyone who does not think that was wrong. However, all the rioting, destruction and murder cannot be justified by Floyd's death. It just made a bad situation worse.

The question is who controls the streets: the government of the mob. I vote for government, you vote for mob carefully using the euphemism "peaceful protesters" instead of mob.

What you call the "mob" I call the "people" and yes, in the USA that "euphemism" is what controls everything, streets and all, because it IS the government, at least in this country.

    Are you from the USA?

The people elect the government to control the streets on their behalf. An anarchist mob is just that and we the people fund the police to suppress them.

Agreed. But that doesn't mean it should just be ignored and we go right back to the way things were only with the police and government being even more oppressive. In particular, just because you say that Floyd's death was bad and something should be done about the conditions that contributed to it doesn't mean you approve of the rioting and all the destruction.

So who are you siding with; BLM and their anarchy, or President Trump? The answer is obvious, but I'd like to see you admit to it.

No, the people ARE the government, that is more than just a euphemism, it is a fact. We are a republic but we are democratically based. ALL the people elect the government not a noble class or great families. The people have the real power and sometimes, most often when the government is doing a really bad job, the people step up and take it back. At least that's the theory the actual procedure rarely works that smoothly, as we've just seen but even so we at least try to keep the jackboots in the closet

I ask again, am I having the honor of addressing one of our non-American posters?

You're not addressing me but I side with America. Your false equivalence is easily recognized.

The police are not solely responsible for the deaths. This cannot be emphasized enough. If they do not resist and follow the legal orders of the police, most of the deaths would not have occurred. It is unreasonable to expect the police response to always be perfect when viewed in hindsight. When you automatically assume the police are guilty of murder when someone dies or cause the police to be resistant to protect themselves, the better policeman will look elsewhere for employment because it is not worth the risk for what they are being paid.

I think we are seeing the beginnings of a pushback against the worldwide revival of fascism we have seen recently. Some nations will not deal well with it

I appreciate that, but I suspect the OP would have a hard time giving the same answer.

Oh, and by the way, if there is any false equivalency, it exists in the OP, not in my reply to it.

They should be paid more, I've always said that. I think we should pay them higher salaries instead of buying them tanks for one thing. They have a very difficult job and deserve a premium salary, but if you are not up to the challenge perhaps it is better you work in something else.

Floyd was handcuffed and laying on the ground with 3 people holding him down. Was he resisting by saying he couldn't breathe?

The FE I refer to is the idea that the only 2 sides are either Trump or the protestors. I don't think either expresses the clear interests of America entirely.

I frequently become confused as to who said what and even what is what here. Thank you for the clarification.

I am native born and as a bona fide member of the people I want to see these anarchists and terrorists thrown in jail. They have no right to break the law.

Do you want to see the statues of America's founders removed?
