Sad how many in the cult Of trump were willing to abandon the rule of law for him. Luckily scotus didn’t let them sell out America just yet.

The deafening clapping of the left cheering as government tramples over the 4th amendment because they are too myopic to understand that this ruling will effect them as well. Stunning in their rush to destroy the foundational rights of people in their anger to attack a duly elected President.

You should read the LONG historical precedents for their rulings.
100% of trump appointed Scotus judges disagree with you.

And better yet, Kavanaugh and Gorsuch voted against him. I guess Gingrich learned that Kavanaugh wasn't the SCJ he thought he'd be...

The Washington Post hosted a Q&A with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich yesterday, and when the discussion turned to Donald Trump’s tax returns, Karen Tumulty noted that if Democrats gain power in Congress after the congressional midterms, they’re likely to subpoena the president’s materials. She asked Gingrich about his expectations in the event of such a fight, and the Republican responded:

“Then [Democrats will] be trapped into appealing to the Supreme Court, and we’ll see whether or not the Kavanaugh fight was worth it.”

I think the key word in the 4th Amendment is "unreasonable." Apparently, SCOTUS believes that the request by prosecutor Vance is not unreasonable.

That seems an entirely political decision, not a legal one. But don't worry, future democrats will now also be treated in this way. The door will never close.

Are you under the impression we want dems to hide their finances? Because we don’t.

Yay! More power to the tax man! With more tax laws on the books than you can read in a lifetime, you have committed many crimes without knowing it. If you should become politically inconvenient for someone in power, that monster may come after you. Yay! More power!

These laws already applied to the rest of us, now we know they also apply to the president.

They honestly think that if they SHRIEK "Racist!" or "Misogynist!" or "Ethnic!" whenever it's the Left's turn to have THEIR financials illegally looked into that will keep it from happening. Time and time again we watch the collective politial Left self-righteously take aim at the Right and then shoot themselves in the foot along these lines . . . and then they cry a river of tears after the fact.

I predict future Presidents will freely release their taxes, Trump is the only one with something to hide

What a mountain of assumptions you just spewed in such a short grammatically challenged line. So, ok, how many of all presidents have released their taxes? 5? 6? of how many 45 now? Clearly not most. And "most" don't have nothing to hide... LOL.. Thats funny. Really.

Sweet. So should Biden be elected and his taxes don't reflect the payoff to his family for his quid pro quo with the Ukraine, you'll be first in line to investigate and impeach... Sweet.

This is what everyone says when things don't go their way. It's not always true. And in this case, the ruling is incredibly narrow and limited, as the Courts intended, so no, this won't bother you or me unless we a) run for president, b) refuse to release tax returns, and c) have enough reasonable doubt to convene a grand jury over our financial activities.

And before you fall back to your claim that it can happen to anybody, I can tell you have I have been involved in zero grand juries in my life thus far which was approached middle aged. I don't know anyone in my life who ever has been involved in such an issue. And if I google the stats, if such exist, I suspect it will be just as low. And if I do it again a year from now or ten, I suspect they will be just as low.

I would be upset if I were a Trump supporter too, because it's harder to lie about and defend financial records in black and white.

You seem to believe in something that is criminal that the IRS clearly didn't. They have been filed, right? And nothing in them was then audited by the IRS who reviewed and accepted them, right? So what do you suppose the probative value of said returns is, other than to create an avenue to leak potentially embarrassing stuff to the media? What illegality do you suppose that the SDNY will "find" hidden within tax returns that the IRS didn't?

This really is the crux of the issue. Democrats want to "prove" something "embarrassing" and really nothing more. And when democrats in congress got shut down, they ran off to a friendly court to get them to demand it instead. And here we are. And if the documents are leaked, then what? Do you flame the grand jury and the prosecutor for their illegal acts? More, what "crime" do you expect to find there? I can't for the life of me think of one. And should they "find" something, will it prove to just be embarrassing?

So your financial information is public? I would hope to have a candidate on the ballot that refused to pay taxes. The IRS has way too much power as it is. Could your dislike for Trump be used to trick you into supporting even more power?
