Thousands of people are being fired even for slight disagreements with The Left. In USA 2020, many more people are afraid to voice their opinions then in USSR 1980.
That kinda goes moreso to labor protections yes? If you don’t have an union to represent you, you can get fired for pretty much anything. That though can be seen as a form of authoritarianism which goes to the OPs point. Now if you want to know if the US is an authoritarian country, there are lots of metrics we can use. I like polity but that’s because I’m a comparativist. Since 2016 the polity score in the US has decreased to around 7.6 I believe. 6 is the marker of a democracy.
Totalitarian Right has been almost completely defeated. The Nazis and Old Democrats are almost non-existent. Totalitarian Left is stronger then ever.

Not really. In 1929-1953, USSR was as Totalitarian as Leftists in Western World 2020. PS. Stalin had great faults and great virtues. He did the most of any mortal to defeat Nazis. Many Old Testament Kings had faults and virtues.

Rioting isn’t terrorism. FBI have finally noted that right wing terrorism is a thing. There are lots of people who have weighed in on this and pointed out that there are more examples of right wing terrorism than radical Islamic terrorism.
It’s a simple numbers difference. There are more examples of right wing domestic violence than domestic radical Islamic extremism violence.

Totalitarianism and Authoritarianism involve government force. If my private company fires me for going on a neo-Nazi tirade, that isn't "totalitarianism" or "authoritarianism." That's them exercising their private rights.
Of course actual Hate Speech is a fireable offense. But if someone is fired for a political opinion which is not Hate Speech, then it should be regarded as a great wrong. If many people are being fired for reasonable opinions disagreeing with the Left, we are living under Leftist Corporate Tyranny. If someone is fired from a state, city, or federal job for an opinion which is not Hate Speech, they may have a First Amendment claim. Conservatives and some Independents should understand that we are living under Leftist Corporate Tyranny. We are not living in a Free Society.
