And now (we knew it would happen), Trump is attacking Fauci. The WH is listing all of Fauci's mistakes from the past. Hey, the man is not infallible. And his early comments were just plain wrong. As were Trump's. But now, he is direct opposition to Trump's current assertions, and he must be discredited!

He's talking about Trump. Trump said this would all just disappear. He said we'd go from 15 cases to "close to zero" in a matter of months.

I don't think they'll actually fire him, but they are probably testing the waters to see what the public reaction would be, particularly among supporters.

To an extent I do agree with that, I think the data is absolutely being manipulated. I do not think the virus is a hoax at all. However, the data has been manipulated and I do believe it is political. I do think, the data will suddenly change and we will see a drastic drop in cases.

While I respect the skepticism, if anything we're undercounting the cases. Massively. The number of cases are based on positive tests, and some of those test produce a near 50% false negative. And the CDC has also looked into statistical excess deaths; we're likely undercounting the COVID deaths by tens of thousands.

    Common sense?

I mean, do you actually believe that a person's last words while dying from COVID were, "I think I made a mistake. I thought this was a hoax, but it's not."

That doesn't cause your BS detector to activate even a little bit?

Why not ? It would appeal to his base. That's all he cares about.

When the guy was documented as an anti-mask fool...and then catches the virus?

    No.

It's the exact opposite. They're being wildly exaggerated.

When a bed-ridden octogenarian with multiple preexisting health conditions contracts coronavirus and then dies, it is a gross oversimplification to attribute the "cause" of death to coronavirus.

It would be just as accurate to attribute their death to good old fashioned natural causes.

Or have we suddenly forgotten that old people eventually and inevitably die?

I agree to an extent, I believe the man died from Covid-19 after attending the party. However, in cases where people are dying they are extremely short of breath, intubated, placed on ventilators so it is hard to believe those would be his last words but it makes for a great story.

It is you vs science here. Science wins.

This is why the CDC does excessive death analysis to get to the bottom of things, instead of relying only on anecdotes. Based on that, we're probably undercounting deaths by at least 30,000, and that's an extremely conservative estimate from earlier in the year.

    You don't actually understand "science".

"Excess deaths" is nothing but an estimate based on a model.

But let's assume, for the sake of argument, that it's a valid metric. The "excess deaths" we're witnessing could just as easily have been caused by the lock downs themselves. I know that you and other pro tyranny types stubbornly refuse to acknowledge the mountains of evidence which demonstrate significant increases in mortality and morbidity that result from economic distress and social isolation, but they do exist and they must be accounted for if "science" is really your aim.

There are countless deaths that have been blamed on Covid without a test or any documented proof on the certificate. If anything the deaths are OVERCOUNTED.

Dying of cancer eh? You got a month to live? Oh. You have shortness of breath and a cough. That’s a COVID symptom. Mark the death as probably Covid. And Nurse. Please fill out this form so we can get a federal subsidy for the hospital stay please. That’s what hospitals have been doing since March.

The CDC and I disagree with you.

No, it isn't "estimate based." They compare locally-focused mortality averages over time to what we are seeing now.

Yes. Let's, for he sake of argument, assume that the medical research experts are right. So controversial, I know.

You . . . want to attribute tens of thousands of excess deaths . . . to things like suicide? Really? And you can back this up with . . . ? Don't bother trying to answer. I know you have none.

Lol, that's just adorable. So cute.

First of all, you are just fabricating ****. I never denied that there were people who died from things like suicide at least in some part due to the isolation. How does that come remotely close to addressing the excess deaths?

I know, I know, the CDC is part of some sort of illuminati plot to overthrow Trump and replace him with the Sasquatch that faked Obama's birth certificate. I'm sure.

Wrong again. We've done excess death research. There is no rational basis for claiming they are overcounted. The facts say that they are greatly under counted.

If that were the case, the excess death counts would show it. They show the opposite.
