Dr. Malachi York said that in the beginning all people were green, until some were brought here on space ships and oxidized to brown.

We agree there. If we had dealt with this virus like we have dealt with the seasonal flu, life would be better for everyone. But we had to inject government incompetence into it. We have paid a huge price for that.

I'm sorry...you are suggesting that the country is not being ****ed by a pandemic or it is not in a recession?

    True!

Also, 6 black people in Sweden have been shot by police in the last 28 years....and Sweden never had more than a very brief and marginal brush with slavery. But, hey, protesting one black death by police every 4-5 years is far, far more important than old people dying of Covid. It's a global phenomenon...in wealthy western countries.

~ We closed the economy on purpose . The biggest problem the pandemic created is the stupidity of our illustrious "experts" was exposed for all to see. The psychological ramifications are worse than the virus. The USA is being put on tilt by a small group of unhappy individuals who need a cause and the dingbat politicians that allow it. That is the real "pandemic" illness.
Putting things in perspective is not that difficult.

We all emerged from single-celled pond slime, according to Darwin's evolution. So we're all brothers and sisters in slime!

No, his travel ban on Europe came too late. His failure to act hit NYC hard.
The media found some Democrats to 'cry racism' and you're generalizing to all Democrats. That's just as bad as Democrats generalizing about Republicans based on the racist blather coming from Trump. The media across the political spectrum (that includes Fox News) relies on conflict to keep people tuned in or clicking.
Trump failed to secure our borders soon enough because business didn't want him to hit their bottom line. He also pushed to reopen too soon because business wanted to make money. The EU objected because business objected.
Give it a rest. There's no way on this earth you can defend Trump's erratic performance and the travel bans are another failure. His ban on China was early (good) but incomplete (bad), and his ban on Europe was comprehensive (good) but too late (bad).
Yeah, your haughty missive about others "posting nonsense" is you projecting.

Australia had a strict lockdown, one of the strictest in the world, and closed their borders. Now their numbers are going through the roof.

Spike now. Or spike later. Spike lives matter! :p

One cannot have a good economy on demand. We are just beginning to see how catastrophic the lockdowns have been on the world economy and especially to the third world that counted on day labor just to eat.

One wonders what will happen if a serious disease comes around after we’ve squandered world treasuries on this near non event.

Times are changing and you've lined up with the social dinosaurs.

You have a good point about protests that don't socially distance but you completely blow it but associating the protests with communism. People are tired of the racist crap bigots continue inflicting on society. Anyone who thinks all those people in the streets were led and motivated by communists is poorly informed.

At some serious number the vaccine release guidelines would be damned, thrown out, and anybody who volunteered to receive the vaccine could get it.

I don't know what that serious number would be. 1 out of ten dead?

Victoria province (6.3m people) has an outbreak that appears to have peaked and the rest of Australia (25m people) is largely untouched.

You're misrepresenting what's going on in Australia ("Now their numbers are going through the roof.") and then implying you know they will inevitably fail as badly as we have ("Spike now. Or spike later. Spike lives matter! :p")

A friend of mine contracted covid-19; he survived it but now has a respiratory condition he has to live with for the rest of his life. It's unlikely he'll ever be able to return to work. He is 28 years old and was in perfect health prior to being infected.

I’m certain that I got it and I’m certain that I’m fine and will be and I’m certain that will be the case for nearly everyone.

Lucky you. I think I had it, too, even though I tested negative and had very mild symptoms. I self-isolated until my symptoms completely disappeared.
