Joe Biden complicit with Reaganite terror. Records in the CIA CREST archive, unsealed in 2017, detail Biden’s role in supporting the rise of President Reagan's CIA director, William Casey, "and ushering in one of the darkest eras of the CIA’s history." The Agency was running death squads in Central America at the time:
Going back to the 70s?? No problem. Biden didn't unleash the CIA in the 70s. In the 80s Casey did when Reagan made him the top guy at the CIA. He did all sorts of crappy things. Until recently, there was a bipartisan consensus over foreign affairs. It was called muscular, it was a weird era. Of course Biden was a part of it, you'd stay stuck in the back if you didn't. All they did there was say he was an old politician. This is getting to be fun, I like history.
The 80s, not 70s. Foreign policy is still bipartisan. The 2 factions only differ on how to run the Empire.
So he did some recruiting. Last time I looked, that wasn't against international law. You're barking up the wrong tree.
Wrong. At least read what I posted before commenting. You're just making stuff up for partisan reasons.
You need to try harder than "wrong". I was around back then, and foreign affairs has always been an interest of mine.
Thats one of the problems with Joe Biden-he's been around for nearly 50 years in DC. He even opposed school bus desegregation and said he didn't want his kids growing up in a racial jungle. Biden was famous for being a remarkably wrong and idiotic politician, he only got into the senate because of big credit lenders/banks in his state.
Because going with someone who had no experience has worked out so well. A quarter million dead and the economy sliding into depression. Biden can learn, unlike the idiot we have now. He also knows how the White House is supposed to work, because he's done it. He had one of the best working relationships with the president of any Veep in American history. You will keep up the crazy, that won't change what it is.
Trump has made every career politician look inept and lazy. You've got to run what you brung when you support Biden. The only think Biden will learn is how to eat his applesauce with his dentures out.
I think you're wrong there. The way I see the bipartisan foreign policy ended basically with the end of the cold war and the breakup of the USSR. You seen it with the Republicans objecting to the war against Libya and on the Iran deal. So much on the Iran deal that Obama refused to submit it to congress for ratification as any treaty should have been per the Constitution. On Libya, Obama went to war without a vote in congress instead relying on a UN resolution. You seen it on the votes on the Iraq War in 2002. The bipartisanship shown of foreign policy began to unravel in the late 1990's. That when it became more important to be against whatever a president wanted or was trying to do for the opposing party than taking the whole of America into consideration as was done prior to that. Which party held the presidency became irrelevant, being oppose has become much more important whether it was during Bush II, Obama and now Trump.
You are wrong there. The 2 big wars were against Iraq, and were Republican. For the second one, President Cheney had to lie cheat and steal to get his war. You are partly right, the old bipartisan support of the empire is eroding. But it's mostly on the wings of the parties, so far. Unless Trump becomes our dictator, he's an aberration. It's not so much that he's against war as it's a case of him wanting to minimise what we do abroad. If he gets pushed, he isn't sophisticated enough to respond with anything but push back. Or to pretend it didn't happen, like he does with Putin. Btw, presidents almost never ask for a vote in Congress to declare war. It's been that way a very long time. I was surprised when Obama did ask for a vote.
I agree and even though well into Iraq, dems were for the war, they "swung" 180 to oppose Bush a few years later, while under Obama going on to start conflicts in Libya and Syria, while ceding Iraq to ISIS forcing Obama back into Iraq. The last several years, Republicans have become far more anti war, and that's one of Trump's biggest selling points. Today the opposition to withdrawing troops comes from a few establishment neocons in both the Republican and Democrat parties. Tangentially, Perro-we are what around 90 days from the election? I'd look forward to your observations of polling now, and as we get closer in.
Trump had a lifetime of experience, it just wasn't as a Washington insider. He knew how Washington worked but he wasn't elected to continue the status quo. He has been very good for this country and that has been in spite of the most hostile Congress I have ever seen but his real enemy and driving force of the opposition has been the MSM. Epstein didn't kill himself and Trump hasn't killed anyone by infecting them with Covid-19.
They only disagree on strategy. They both support the Empire. They both support regime change in Venezuela. We're still Syria and Afghanistan. Trump is still squeezing the Syrian economy. He continued Obama's policy of aiding genocide in Yemen. He continued Obama's policy in Ukraine. He continued the policy against Russia and China.
I do my monthly forecasts for the senate, house and presidency on another site. I do them monthly as things change. So far this year it's been good news for the Democrats. But the winds of change could be about to blow. That I'm not certain of. But there has been cracks in the good news forthcoming so far for the Democrats. How big they grow, that is anyone's guess.
At least Biden hasn’t been caught being operative for the other CIA ( Chinese intelligence Agency) like Diane Feinstein (unwittingly?) has been doing for 20 years thru her limo driver
