The arteries do not stay permenent compressed unless you drain the blood out.

Clearly you did not see the video camera footage which was oddly shown in England but not the US. Floyd was saying he couldn't breath long before he was restrained on the ground.

Saying that someone died from self-ingestion of Fentanyl is hardly a lame excuse. Of course the left has always favored show trials that reflect a political narrative.

Its not really. There are 4 carotid arteries in the neck, and in the event that one or more are compressed, blood flow continues to the brain from the other vessels.

We also know that the loss of consciousnesses is nearly instantaneous from lack of blood flow to the brain.

You are confusing two issues. Shallow breathing (hypopnea) including apnea (no breathing), are typically what causes death-that is true.

That is distinctly different from an airway obstruction like tracheal occlusion.

We know neither occured initially because Floyd was moving air (when screaming, when talking to the cops in the new videos), and if his airway was obstructed he would not be able to speak and yell like he did.

Also the autopsy would have been more likely to show damage to the trachea which it did not find.

The guy was claiming he couldn't breath long before he was even down on the ground.

Except the blood results don't show that large of an amount.

The two on each side are the two external ones which are subject to restriction due to compression I would conclude.

So are you saying that the shallow breathing that fentanyl can cause did not contribute to his death?

He was suffering a cardiopulmonary event before he was even on the ground. The prosecution has a tough road to travel to prove the knee on the neck was the cause of death.

I have heard this but have seen no link, I'm guessing it was a conclusion of the families secondary autopsy? A very small amount can be fatal. It's what, 50 times more potent than heroin, at least?

What we have heard as the transcripts show he was dying before he hit the ground.

A child abuser career criminal who had just have COVID, with a heart condidtion, got drugged up, went and tried to pass a bad note the physically resisted arrest and put himself in to a cardiac event where he was breathing but his heart was not pumping the blood.

And they honor and memorialize him.

His existing heart condition, the meth, the fentanyl and top of that the COVID then the fighting with the police.................cardiac event and he was a death man.

Yeah, if he tested positive for COVID, then that's the end of the debate. Muh COVID got him.

Heck, you can die from a shark attack and they find your severed left pinky toe and it tests positive for COVID - it's a COVID death, no matter that the other 99% of you is shark food.

After all, Trump's President, so we have to jack up the death count as high as we can.

They don't have to-as his cardiac function drops less of the drug is absorbed. This why giving an intramuscular injection of Narcan isn't effective if the heart is stopped-there is no blood flow so it can't get to the respiratory control center in the brain.

His serum level was 11 nanograms/ml plus another 5.6 of norfentanyl which would have been converted by the body into even higher levels of fentanyl.

Its well above the lethal threshold.

then that makes the cop even MORE complicit in the death of the man by complicating the man’s ability to breath by cutting off the blood supply to his brain with a FMG DAMN CHOKE HOLD of knee to neck , a tactic banned by vast majority of police depts in the USA

Now that the mask of the closet NAZI right wingers on this forum has been clearly removed for all to see, here on the PF via their BS apology for one man being choked to death and another man run down by vigilantes and shot like a dog, this would be a good time for me to
RENOUNCE my support for the Fat Turd Trump and follow my conservative relatives disdain for the jackass in office by NOT VOTING this election.

That’s 3 conservative traditional Christian senior citizens now NOT voting for Trump. Want to see how many more will join us? Then keep posting garbage like this thread

Failure to render aid is what they're guilty of, if anything. Perhaps excess use of force.

"Not being a doctor" however, is not a crime.

They all can be obstructed, but the force required is significant. If the EC's are occluded the IC's will take additional blood to the brain.

Fentanyl absolutely contributed to his death but since he was able to move enough air to yell and talk he had not yet absorbed enough to cause shallow breathing.

    I've treated opiate OD's for 20 years.

Excess use of force is assault. Assault resulting in death is murder.

it could have been a factor in his death but I think the stress of being arrested was much more of a factor, as well as the drugs in his system.

That's why prosecution shouldn't listen to the peanut gallery. They might have been able to get him on criminal negligence maybe even manslaughter.

My pet is without the politics entering Court the police walk.

If this leads to more riots they should be suppressed with national guard. We should not be held hostage and our justice system corrupted because a few people want to throw a fit.

he was screaming he couldn't breathe when they were trying to get him to go into the police car. that might have been true he might have had been having trouble breathing but it was nothing the cops were doing.

The knee in his neck didn't cause asphyxiation. so if he was saying he couldn't breathe because of the knee on his neck he was lying. It was probably because of the drugs he was on.
Probably not. The officer probably will not be convicted of murder. You have to prove intent to kill if you want to prove murder.

There was no asphyxiation the pressure on the neck from the knee was not enough to show intent.

I can point this out and I'm not a lawyer that means a lawyer can do a lot better than I did.

Did those spectators know what Floyd had in his system? Would it be possible something else was killing him?

~ If Floyd was indeed on a concoction of drugs that effect respiration / cardiac function and cause violent behavior I doubt the officer will even be convicted of involuntary manslaughter. The video minutes leading up to Floyd's forced restraint also puts a different light on this situation.
Sadly had Floyd cooperated this would not be an issue. The Wendy's drive-thru shooting is the same situation.

Involuntary manslaughter is defined as an unintentional killing that results either from criminal negligence or the commission of a low-level criminal act such as a misdemeanor. Involuntary manslaughter is distinguished from other forms of homicide because it does not require deliberation or premeditation, or intent.

For the record, the notion that the cause of death was an OD is not conclusion from aby medical source, but a conclusion of a defense attorney. There were in fact two autopsies performed which did not show a lethal amount of fentanyl in the subject’s bloodstream
