If I were to raise snails for eating they would be the ones. They are invading the deep South. I will eat the snail but never tried tripe.

My mom use to make tripe. I don't cook it because I would be the only one eating it.
You have to clean it good although it looks clean. She would salt it and then scrape it with the back of a knife. Then rinse it in white vinegar and water. Then boil it. After all that she would cut it up in small cubes and put it in the...gravy. Tripe actually has little flavor so the gravy has to be good to make up for it. Its not bad but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
My aunt would cook pig skins and put it in the gravy with pepperoni. Pig skins in gravy is tasty.
    Have you ever eaten eel?

Here's the general idea, so far. The paper represents the bridge over the stream:

As many times as I have fished over the years, Ive only caught one eel. I was on a dock fishing next to this nice older man. He was thrilled when I caught the eel, so I gave it to him.

The eel we've bought to cook is not slimy. Its super tasty meat. I gut it and slice it up in small pieces. Then marinate it overnight with red wine vinegar, salt, pepper and garlic. Then bake it until it looks cooked. Its the one thing I make sure I have on the table for Christmas Eve that was a long standing tradition growing up.

I suggest going to YouTube and watch Andrew Camarata and his
site. You will be amazed at his work. One of his latest YouTube
was digging a trench to place the electric conduit. He had to buy
new pieces for his huge Ditch Witch since he had to cut thru
solid bedrock.A monstrous rock saw attachment to his 6510 tractor.

That wasn't attached to anything, was it? Did you call 811 before digging?

Japanese Maple behind (to the left in photo) the water feature? Remember, plant for the mature size!

Lessons from experience, leaves of any sort are a PITA to pick out from pea gravel.

That looks like a battery cable. Is that also a terminal end on the left hand side? I have a dozen in my work van. I wouldn't worry about it if it's not attached to anything, but calling to make sure you're not digging something utilitarian up is a good idea.

The green pole represents the "tree". I already have it. It's a bay laurel.

I'm not planting anything too close to the house.

Right now, the plan is for a short bamboo fence, to hide the concrete blocks. Then, maybe some tall-ish grasses. Right up against the foundation, the plan has a foot and a half to two feet of pavers, or maybe gravel.

My entire yard is basically landfill. I've found everything from broken glass, old apothecary bottles, and rusted nails, to tin cans. This is the first ground strap I've found.

Its been a while that is for sure. I had even left the other site for a year going thru the divorce and moving. Then was working 2 jobs. So wasnt there that much but have been back there for the last couple of years. (theyre down this weekend changing out servers. Was suppose to be back yesterday. Still not up this morning.) Had left the newspaper, but that job didnt work out and I am now back at the newspaper. Gave up the day job too.

Then had a couple curves thrown at me by reality. You know how it is.
