Is there a source on that statistic, or were you just using those numbers as a generalized expression? Because if it's a mere expression, that's pretty much what I was talking about in my initial post. In the US it is assumed that if you do not listen to the orders of the police, then there is a justification for them to use lethal force against you.

There are many hypothetical situations that can be applied to this particular incident, but what we ultimately need to figure out is was there probable cause for the police to believe that Jacob Blake's intentions were to cause harm to anyone else. Not complying with orders in itself isn't probably cause. There are many things we need to figure out, most notably how Blake's encounter with the police got started. I see you referring to him as a suspect, but we still haven't seen anything released from the police department suggesting he was a suspect. We know that the police were called in relation to a domestic incident, however it is unclear what the incident was, or how Blake was involved in the incident, if at all. According to witnesses he had just broken up a fight between two women, however we haven't heard anything from the police officers' on what happened.

    Could be photoshop.

I read there was a gun in the vehicle.

Either way, the shoot was likely justified but the way they went about it was pathetic and will ultimately lead to charges.

    The circumstances justify the shoot...

The manner in which the shoot was executed is what you have an issue with.

I, too, believe the officer was poorly trained. He will be fired, if not charged, for his cowboy antics.

But not for shooting a fleeing felon.

I forget what we were talking about.

Was it that Cops are living like royalty or that cops are making bank like royalty?

Excellent summary. This pretty much wraps up my thoughts on it as well. I justify the shoot after seeing enough evidence presented (my knee jerk reaction was that it was not justified), but the way in which it was done was atrocious. This is either a reflection of poor training as a whole for the entire Kenosha PD, or this officer received better training, and it just did not do him any good, IOW, a bad officer.

He didn't just turn his back did he, why do you misrepresent what happened? He turned his back when he walked away did he get shot then? No. What did he do?

This is the type of "lie by omission" that the left and MSM engage in and results in cities burning and fanning the flames of racial unrest and devisivness.

Because he's armed with a knife and police are not required to physically engage armed suspects. It's one reason theybhave TASERS, failed to subdue suspect here, and guns.

Why not just obey the lawful orders of the police? You guys never want to answer that one.

Umm you brought it up suggesting black cops should handle black perps. Guess you have no statistical evidence to support your theory.

How about bad training on the part of the criminal? The police did as trained. They ordered him to drop the knife, he refused, he began to walk away, they with their weapons drawn ordered him to stop and drop the knife they TASE him and he blows it off and continues to try and leave, one officer tries to physically stop him endangering himself, the criminal stoops and starts to reach into the car where a gun is likely stashed.......they fired. LAWFULLY fired to stop the criminal.

What's this imaginary training you are talking about?

OH GEEZ..........I think when you have a knife in your hand with police with drawn weapons and they are ordering you to drop the knife and you refuse and they TASE you you know what is going on and it wasn't his first arrest.

What a pitiful attempt to blame the police.

So doesn't stand by the police but by the criminals and excuses the violence against the peaceful law abiding citizens.

Remember the "beer summit" when he and Obama were going to "settle the racial differences" and in fact attacked the police officer as a racist.

The suepct had an open warrant, his second felony.

    That's why he's a suspect.

Regardless of whether he was involved in the original argument that prompted the 911 call.

I saw this on another forum, but with the leadin that a friend who is a local told them all that. So I am guessing you copy pasted this from whatever right wing blog / chain mail you subscribe to.

If there was any chance it was true, why would the police keep all that secret?

Unfortunately the family is reporting that he is paralyzed from the waist down. I can't see the city paying him less than $100m to settle.

    Wow.

Kenosha obviously bears the responsibility for allowing this Killer Cop to obtain a badge and a gun.

Obviously, the city will pay millions.

And this pathetic excuse of a cop must be given a Max Sentence for Attempted Murder.
