I said it was rooted in the bible. Not that it originated in the Bible. Then you compared the Bible and several passages that weren't related to the philosophical principles which originated in ancient Greece as the Wikipedia article states.

That is off topic and ridiculous. It is so wrong, any fifth grader that took civics knows you are in error. Thomas Jefferson said the Declaration of Independence is the "declaratory charter of the rights of man." That document also formed the basis for what propelled us into war and we fought for unalienable Rights. The Declaration of Independence says that those Rights come from a Creator. The earliest court decisions all ruled that your God given Rights were, unalienable, irrevocable, natural, inherent, and absolute. The terms are synonymous.

You can misinterpret the Bible any way you wish. It does not make you right. It simply means you don't understand.

Now you have resorted to Semantic Quibbling which is just another way to try and evade having to concede that your position cannot be substantiated.

Any fifth grader would recognize the puerile Appeal to Authority FALLACY in your response.

Too bad that you are UNABLE to disprove any of the things that I posted about your bible which says volumes about your own dearth of subject matter knowledge regarding the origins of individual rights.

Again, total nonsense. Have you ever posted anything on this board yourself that wasn't an absolute fallacy?

Again, this is the wrong thread, only proving that reading comprehension is not your strong suit. I'd be glad in a PM to suggest a real debate forum where you could try your hand at proving what you believe is your superior knowledge of theology. Go ahead with the excuses of why you can't defend your position if a forum geared toward that. It's much safer here. Instant, short answers, lots of rules, and agendas by people with power. Sorry, but you were wrong when you began that argument and you'll be equally wrong when it's over.

    Check the thread, newbie!

I was NOT the one who introduced the FALLACY of "god given rights". I just EXPOSED it as a FALLACY.

So when it comes to reading comprehension I recommend that you REFRAIN from PROJECTING your own issues onto others.

You went off topic and started the "flamebaiting." With over 650 posts here, I didn't know that I was a newbie any longer. I noticed that you keep using that word puerile. You are about the only poster here that uses that word. How long did it take you to find that in a thesaurus? Do you think that by using that word along with emojis it leads credence to your position? It does not.

There is no such thing as a "FALLACY" of God given Rights. I interjected to point out you are still off topic, regardless of who made the off the cuff remark. I don't have to project anything. You can put your erroneous opinions into all caps and keep repeating the same word you think makes you look superior to others, but you're wrong and I doubt that you have the courage to participate in a real debate to test your actual knowledge. It's not going to get done on this thread. And if you want a good example of puerile, you should check out your own posts that go off the reservation just because someone offended you by casually mentioning God given Rights - which you attempted to derail this thread with and now hope to parlay into a whizzing contest. Can you get back on topic and put your insults into a PM?

The term "triggered" springs to mind when reading the content above although that was NOT my intention.

You appear to have an ISSUE with my vocabulary and posting STYLE but that is NOT my problem.

If you seriously believe that puerile taunting is going to do anything other than amuse me then that says VOLUMES.

Feel free to start a thread in the appropriate forum where YOU state your case for the FALLACY that CONSTITUTIONAL rights are "god given".

When it comes to insults it appears that you are PROJECTING your own ISSUES onto others again.

    Sad!

You seem to be the one "triggered." Your fantasies don't equal fact and there you go again with that word puerile. It's annoying the way you over-use that and the word fallacy to everything you don't like. Sir, if you look back, you are the one who was trying to insult people on this thread and it does not appear that you can divorce yourself from that asinine behavior in order to have conducive interactions with your fellow posters so as to add anything of a benefit to the OP.

I haven't watched much of any conventions.. perhaps the aftermath to see who got the nomination.. BUT I accidently caught a bit of President Donald J Trump at a rally and was mesmerized.. So I watched the the RNC and was not disappointed.. it was BRILLIANT!

Under God wasn't added until 1954.

Here's the original: "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

You should go back and review the conversation as you were completely humiliated and proven wrong. I know it's hard for you to admit but perhaps you can learn from your mistakes in the future. If you think you did so well, we should have the same argument in another thread, repeat the argument word for word. That will be fun.

This is a very bad comparison. Early Spring flowers, like Tulips, do not bloom in late Summer.

Melania re-did the Rose Garden because there were numerous issues with plant crowding and tree roots causing issues. Every tree was carefully removed and placed elsewhere on the grounds. I've no issue with what she did.

Note it was all paid for with private contributions.

Unclear how it relates to the convention, but I thought I'd point it out.

Did anyone at the convention mention why they are in court trying to put the final nail in the coffin of affordable healthcare and protection for pre-existing conditions? Did they explain what they are replacing it with?

You mean Obama's Insurance Industry Subsidy and Bailout Plan which made healthcare more expensive or completely unaffordable for millions of Americans? Insurance is not healthcare, so screw that.

Nancy Pelosi said, "You'll have to pass it to see what's in it."

If you want to know if the RNC Convention addressed the healthcare needs of the country, then you'll have to watch it to see what's in it.

Deflecting much? What does it have to do with Trump in court trying to take away the republican designed crappy insurance that there is? Did he say what he is replacing it with? The convention would have been the perfect place to brag about it.
