Maybe. As you write, he is a known quantity now. His policies created an economic boom when economists like Paul Krugman said they would lead to economic collapse. He was called a racist who would inspire white people to run down POCs in their pick up trucks. Instead, he may have record non-white turnout in his favor as they see he doesn't want to de-fund their police: he wants record high employment numbers and rising wages for working Americans.

I think you are missing the bigger point: Trump wasn't supposed to "continue Obama's trend". He was supposed to crash it. He didn't. So they were wrong. And now people know they were wrong.
Also, Obama took over a smashed economy. Recovery from there should and was pretty easy. Trump took over a pretty good economy that had had 8 years to recover. There was no guarantee there was room for further improvements. But he did it. Now, with the COVID economic crisis, Trump is being credited for a very strong economy and recovery all things considered.
At least its nice to move from, "Trump's economy is NOT good!" to, "OK, it's good, but it's just continuing the Obama trend."

This opinion piece is whining BS spin. The story it tracks was always one where the sources were "unidentified." No one cited did otherwise.

If you want newsmedia perfidy, look no further than Ferguson. All the major networks, including Fox, played up the story. So what really happened? Five hundred poor folks were put plopped down into public housing in middle-class neighborhood. The apartments are sweatboxes in summer, so people go outside into the street. With nothing to do in a suburban community of single-family homes, the poor people wander around and get into trouble.

Now, the whole show in Ferguson happened in a few block down a main street extending away from the public housing. That's it. Outside agitators show up and still everything is contained in a few blocks. A dozen or so buildings were burned.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) did a story on a guy who lived one block from the main street. Nice older homes were the backdrop for an interview with him. Nothing happened on his street, he said, and his biggest problem was getting to his two jobs with all the police around.

Seems as though we've come to some wrong conclusions about Ferguson. Turns out the people of Ferguson were't rioting and mostly not interested.

 

So, now that you know Trump has done very little for average folks, why are voting for the guy who lied to us about COVID-19?
