Joe Biden admitted the President was able to get a better North American trade deal then the Clinton NAFTA deal that Biden supported:
Who argues it isn’t? Without it we couldn’t have made all the economical components in Air Force One in Mexico like we did! The wing replacement program for the A-10 is being produced in Mexico! It’s a very good deal for US business!
It’s just an updated NAFTA. It needed to be revised after 20 years. That’s a good thing it was. But it wasn’t even close to a new deal. It’s NAFTA 2.0
An agreement so good that last June Trump was forced to renege on his signature to impose a special tariff on Canadian aluminum. A tariff that will be paid, like all others, by American consumers.
A better deal THAN NAFTA? I will concede that view is very possibly correct. Even a stopped clock (like Trump) gets it right sometimes.
Canada agreed to a “snap back” provision under USMCA that lets the United States respond to an historic increase in US aluminum imports. I always find it funny that Dems attack Trump on tariffs...they are the party of tariffs historically....he's doing what you all have pushed for since your party started. I am not a fan of them....but not for what you say, because the consumer dosen't pay them, unless a company imports it...so the company makes that course....but then it would be passed on...much like corp taxes are always passed on...which makes for a good argument not to vote for Biden since he wants to increase corp taxes.
Biden in Washington for 50 years and can't come up with a crap...Trump, 3 years and gets a better deal. Trump clearly is the better choice..even Biden knows it
This is true. And the republicans have been the party of free trade. It's interesting how an imbecile like can get some republicans to switch positions.
The GOP is still the party of free trade...but free trade needs to be fair...and we have't been treated fairly.
Free trade is fair trade. You don't trade unless the deal is mutually beneficial. The government needs to the the f*** out of the way. And no, the current GOP is NOT the party of free trade. Trumpeezee has never met a tariff he doesn't want to impose. f him.
In some ways it built on NAFTA strengthening our position but it also added several brand new components such as environmental and wage standards that was a huge flaw in NAFTA. Trump said he’d make a better deal and he did just that. Even Biden doesn’t try to deny that fact.
Not it's not....and Govt matters.....we should not let slaves be slaves like Biden and Obama did in Chinea
I'm more of a proponent of balanced trade. When Warren Buffett is ringing sound alarms you know **** got real. The US cannot continue to be a consumer economy without access to other markets. We need to be able to produce not just for ourselves but for the markets.
I doubt most Trump supporters could even give you any differences of any significance. But whatever it was changed it from the worst deal in history to the greatest.
You make a good point. Probably as many Trump supporters understand the USMCA as Biden supporters understood the 11,000 page Affordable Health Care Act. The only people who probably understand the complex USMCA are the lobbyists who wrote it. And maybe they don't understand it. Ross Perot was right about NAFTA and he would likely say the same thing about the USMCA. The USMCA does appear to benefit the Mexican worker. I don't see how any of the job creation claims will materialize for US workers. This is simply checking off a box exercise for Trump. I have this theory that good agreements are simple and easy to understand. Complex agreements written by the K Street crowd can be best described by the acronym BOHICA.
I am not sure what your point is here....they promised to do it....and they failed to do it...Trump did it.
