Here's a story everyone on this board can be happy with. A global warming causing arsonist was held at bay by an extremely brave woman until the cops showed up. Who knows how many homes and lives were saved when this guy was prevented from setting his fires.

It looks staged. Where is the camera mounted and why don't we see the cops show up at some point? Sorry to sound skeptical (and I usually take things at face value unless I have a reason to doubt) but it doesn't seem to add up based on the info available here.

Her story is that she handed her phone to her 13 year old son to record. He was still in their car.

Seems legit but the description of him being an arsonist because he is holding a matchbook seem like a stretch. Obviously he was trespassing and could have been a thief.

Being Oregon I'm surprised SHE wasn't arrested. Must let the little darlings peacefully express themselves.

Thanks for posting that. It makes more sense with that information. I don't usually have a "yeah right" feeling when reading most posts, but this one didn't ring true for me. Hopefully, the police got things sorted out. I know I would do anything to protect my family and property, so kudos to her for that.

Depending on where this occurred in OR, that clown may be lucky he wasn't fed to the pigs.

The guy appears to be wearing tights or something similar and he has white plastic wrist bands on both wrists.

And thhe reason why we have more legal firearms in our country than we have men, women and children and why our daily shooting deaths outnumber any active war zones in the world on a daily basis. We in the good old USA live in a never ending war zone.

We catch people on our property and in our subdivision on a regular basis and at times this is pretty much how it happens depending on the appearance of the person and their attitude. Our neighbor kicked a deputy off his property as the deputy made the mistake of thinking the road through their ranch was a public road, which it wasn't. He was escorted off the property by an armed rancher.

Thanks for sharing that. I was born and raised in Chicago so I'm unfamiliar with how things are usually done in more rural areas. I guess that deputy got a lesson that day, huh? ;-0

I'm glad the woman was able to take charge of the situation and it doesn't appear that anyone was hurt.

He learned that he needs to know when he's on public property and that he isn't supposed to be on private property without a reason. The rancher also just happened to be friends with the Sheriff.

Who died in this story? Lives were saved, trees were saved. The planet was saved. Who died?

Good on this woman. Hope they put this guy away for a long time, assuming he's guilty of course.

    Let’s drill down on this

the article states this is based on a Facebook page

    No evidence of police involvement

No way of identifying the woman making the claim (convenient that)

Apart from Facebook no backing for this, and I agree, staged looking event

I have just finished reading about the rise of the far fight especially pro gun groups like the Boogaloo Bois and it is patently obvious that in the days of social media marching on the streets in Hawaiian shirts is the least effective method of recruitment. One of the most effective is “breadcrumbing” where items like this, which have all the elements to garner support are left open. “Liking” this opens you to more similar content with the (almost) inevitable shift in personal view

So - she has a right to a gun but no right to decide what is happening to her body?

Not since she was told to wear a mask and quarantine herself.

I thought the same thing, when the OP said there was a gun and "we can all agree" my first thought was "no chance ev1 will agree"

Who said that? Oh, only you. The thread is about a woman with a gun that arrested a trespasser. Not a ****ing thing to do with anything close to abortion. Lame effort at projection with a red herring thrown in to boot. Is this an attempt on your part to feel like you matter? You failed. Try harder.

Oregon is pretty normal except in the areas of Portland, Salem and Eugene.

Indeed it is. That we think it deserves any type of discussion is fascinating.
