Seems a bit early to be talking about the nomination. Wait until the country has had a chance to mourn.

It's always fun to watch partisans completely flip flop a previous held opinion, when it becomes politically advantageous to do so.

My hope is they rush the nomination through before November 3, and this convinces the middle that it's time to switch out the dirty diapers that sit in Congress.

I have found myself a little undecided. I heard a pundit explain it might be wise for the President to nominate then hold off on a vote til after he is re elected.Reason being? .... It would challenge Never Trumper Republicans to consider a life time appointment more appealing than just denying the re election of someone they despise. (Would that apply to you Curious Always?)

I know that is a gamble but so is nominating someone and not getting it through before the election. I think there might be some wise strategy here. Am waiting to hear it discussed by ones with more knowledge than my own. Thoughts?

Ill guarentee if Republicans try to rush a judge thru they will certainly lose the senate
Plus its a toss up anyways if they have the vote.

I know 3 that probably wont side with republicans that leaves one more needed.

I guess it would depend on the pick. I like his Garland pick, but thought his Kavanaugh pick was misguided.

It only took 19 days to confirm John Paul Stevens.
So, there is plenty of time to decide. ;-)

Do you prefer activist Judges like Ginsburg? Or are you more on the side of someone who interprets the law?

I guarantee you that if Obama was in his first term, and the Democrats held the senate....he would have gone through with Garland.

The only difference is that Trump (and the GOP) want RW Activist Judges.

There is no way of knowing that.

    That is like saying:

"I can guarantee you that if Hillary won the election that all wars would have ceased and world hunger would have been stamped out".

It is impossible to "guarantee" anything like your fantastical statement.

No....they want judges that interpret the original intent. That is the definition of "Conservative". Glad to help!

Only an EXTREMELY "Activist" Court would even consider overruling Roe v Wade.

You're on with your guarantee. What's at stake, what are you betting? Guarantee assumes it is something tangible, otherwise, what is your guarantee worth?

    Not much.

    WRONG.

Roe v Wade HASN'T been OVERTURNED.

    Casey "modified" the Roe Decision.

    (But, Did NOT "Overturn" it):

Planned Parenthood v. Casey, 505 U.S. 833 (1992), was a landmark United States Supreme Court case regarding abortion. In a plurality opinion, the Court upheld the constitutional right to have an abortion that was established in Roe v. Wade (1973), but altered the standard for analyzing restrictions on that right, crafting the "undue burden" standard for abortion restrictions.

    Roe v Wade "Overturned"?:roflol:

And your point is that politicians lie? Let me assume my Kamala voice: "It's politics! It was politics! It's politics!"

Quit whining, but not until I'm finished laughing.

The next time a Democrat is in the White House will be immediately following the last free American election. What the Democratic party is striving to be is Mexico's Institutional Revolutionary Party that was in power for 71 years. They were nearly there when Trump upended their plans. If they get in power again without first stripping out the Leftist fascists, America is doomed.
