The problem is it's misogynistic to assume that women in power and/or those who speak up are just missing sex in their life. Nobody disparages men who are leaders and/or opinionated.

Pretty insulting having a leader say "WE FEED THEM" to folks that supply the tax money that FEEDS THEM is pretty messed up.. Then again, I can't know how you live or how you feed yourself! But as a tax paying American I know the bitch aint feeding me and it was pretty degrading hearing her say it..

True, but I think this is fair. We can work to abolish gender discrimination without dismantling the English language. Idioms that are indicative or directed at a gender are just that, idioms. Saying "she needs to get laid" is an idea that predates the written word, I'm sure. It's pretty harmless, and understood by all to mean nothing more than frustrated.

Men aren't typically described as frustrated. They're described as being angry. I tell them to go have a drink. Some speech is cultural and harmless. I think it's useful, myself. We shouldn't blur the line between harmless idioms and truly hurtful and harmful speech.

I agree to a point. Only the person offended can say whether something is harmless or not. This is one reason that we, as a whole, can't resolve the racial tensions between groups - nobody is willing to move off their post to talk about it in a constructive way. It doesn't matter what the speaker MEANT. It only matters how those words impact (positively, negatively or neutrally) the listener.

 

What you heard from her was the general way most of the Democrat politician view their constituency! The feed you, they have no respect for WHERE their capital is generated from.. She/they are the Queen bee's and their base are the drones that produce votes for them and in turn are privy to propaganda, bullshit and hopes that never come true..

 

Just so everyone gets a real good look. That's how it is going to be moving forward as the Democrats look to take total control with their voting schemes. If you dissent, or even question, you will be attacked and cancelled. You all thought the cancelling was bad now... it's going to come from the establishment next. If the Repubicans don't at minimum retain the Senate... it's going to get ugly.

I think it's a real slip. This is the view of the pejorative Plantation owners box that news orgs NEVER get to demonstrate to their viewers. When Nancy goes off, it's because folks are questioning her, and that just isn't "done". She expects obedience, not questions. She demands fawning and adoration because, well, she's Nancy dang Pelosi... by golly, and the little folk don't deserve an explanation, just like Joe said the other day. Democrats would have you believe they're for equity and equality, but that's just the lie they tell in public.

(CNN)House Speaker Nancy Pelosi isn't used to being questioned about her strategic decisions. And boy did it show in a hugely contentious interview with Wolf Blitzer on Tuesday, when the CNN anchor simply pressed Pelosi on her approach to a coronavirus stimulus package deal.

Here's how it started:
Blitzer: Even members of your own caucus, Madam Speaker, want to accept this deal, $1.8 trillion, Congressman Ro Khanna for example. But let met just quote Ro Khanna, a man you know well. I assume you admire him. He's a Democrat.
And he just said this. He said "People in need can't wait until February, $1.8 trillion is significant and more than twice the Obama stimulus. Make a deal, put the ball in McConnell court."

Pelosi: What I say to you is, I don't know why you're always an apologist. And many of your colleagues, apologists for the Republican position. Ro Khanna, that's nice. That isn't what we're going to do and nobody's waiting till February.

 

What's a "voting scheme?"

 

Absolutely it is.. How people could hear this and not judge the DNC accordingly is amazing! OR, they are actually being fed by these people! I suspect the latter for many around this country.. I know one thing, if a Republican had said this he or she's time in office would be coming to an end, and that in itself is telling among the Democrats that have nothing to say about it

 

I watched it when it was posted but didn't stay until the last 60 seconds. I just watched the whole thing. I am not sure what was offensive about her saying that. Can you expound on that please? I also don't know why anyone would think she "lost" it.

It's pure politics by Pelosi. I think she's wrong, but it's 20 days. Once Trump is gone, everybody will be fine. Much better, actually.
