nope, if someone did not believe, they could go their own way, I would not torture them for eternity in a hell
Yes, you can go "your own way". And it may very likely take you into Hell. You don't seem to be seeing the connection between belief, actions, and Hell.
but what satisfaction do you get from your loved ones going to hell for just not believing, seems that would be upsetting to people trying to enjoy heaven, I know I would be upset if my good friends and relatives were being punished for eternity for just not believing what I did, how could I enjoy heaven knowing that?
to a hell God created, why create hell, a sick mind would create a hell and send good people there, does this God have a sick mind?
Do I have to repeat things with you? I already told you they would not go to hell only just for not believing.
Only part of the reason: Maybe because it would not really be "heaven" if everyone were allowed in? Only part of the reason: Maybe because people with all their faults would make things into hell. If they finally get their way and kick God out of the picture, maybe they would end up sorry for what they wished for. Things on earth might be a whole lot worse without God's active invisible constant intervention.
I dont think hell is about punishment (yes, even though its portrayed that way in The Bible). Free Will requires choice. If there were no alternative to heaven, there would be no choice but to end up there. Thus, there must be an alternative, and thus: hell. Why would anyone choose to go to hell? Heaven is love, joy and peace. It is these things because these things come from God. Those few who truly reject God (and I don't mean those folks who're confused by the fog of physical existence which muffles our spiritual senses, which is most people imo) have become twisted to enjoy hate and fear and suffering. They will find no enjoyment in heaven. Hell may in fact be more 'enjoyable' (for lack of a better term) for those truly damned souls. I think hell is just their heaven, where they can spend eternity tormenting eachother.
ok, good, then you believe I have nothing to worry about, being a nonbeliever, I won't be punished and sent to hell, good to know
What gets me is that kid keeps picking the wings off for millions of millions of millions of millions of millions of millions of millions of millions of millions of millions of millions of millions of millions of years. . It shows that this god guy thinks that pulling the wings off for just one million of years, just isn't effective enough so he just keeps it going on and on. Seems to me he just lacks sufficient imagination to look into new strategies and tactics.
I don't think God will truly do that for millions of years. If anything, the residents of hell will do it to each other, and individuals will suffer in God's absence.
I think Hell has two different components, in a sense. One is directly about punishment, the other is about the consequences of free will.
Maybe you didn't hear me say that I do not believe that is what will happen. Yes, torturing someone for eternity is evil, so if that happens, it will not be God doing it. That still does not mean there is not a hell and that torture will not go on and on forever. But here's something else to consider: What if their evil goes on and on forever? Then it would be possible for a just God to punish them continually, for eternity. (I suspect it may not be directly, it might be through God's permissive will, permitting the denizens of hell to cause suffering to each other in accordance with what they deserve)
Why can't drug addicts break their addiction? Why do people commit crimes, even knowing they will go to prison for a long time? Why do people make mistakes, and refuse to admit they are wrong? Why are there serial killers who delight at the suffering they cause to their victims? Why will some people risk all they have for revenge?
Believe it or not, not every person actually desires love, joy, and peace. (Oh they often want it for themselves, but not for others)
Yes, I think there will actually be some individuals who would prefer to be in hell and could not stand to be in heaven. They will still suffer in hell, but still find that preferable to being in heaven. But that's only going to be a small portion of the overall individuals. The majority of them will be very remorseful they did not make it into heaven.
