I'm going to call unfair on that. There were a bunch of people waiting for him to speak. He said he was confident and he explained why. I can't imagine anyone seriously taking that as a victory speech
AP has PA at 67% reporting now. Both are still climbing. Biden will have to get a major surge for him to win at the rate they are climbing.
We know the rules are different for Joe than they are for the President, they've always been different for this President for FOUR years.
If it goes to the House the states each get one vote for President. Then the Senate chooses the Vice President. I doubt that will happen, but IT IS 2020, so some other weirdness could still occur.
Doesn't really matter. Its close enough and theres enough states taking mail ins after the election that a few dozens boxes of votes in certain districts can now swing this either way. Its going to the courts while the media runs interference and the antifascist fascists burn down mom-n-pops for walmart and amazon.
They sure are. Given his Toad of Toad Hall capacity for self restraint if President Trump stood up in an attempt to say the same thing it would come out quite differently. Kudos that he declined to comment tonight, though. Might be developing a little self awareness
You're right, but if Trump says something very similar, the left will say he's "claiming victory". I'm just grousing about the double standards between parties. It doesn't matter what either of these old men say tonight. The final vote count is what matters.
I can't deny the left has a fair dose of neuroticism that it needs to learn to manage. Trump supporters have learnt to relax and not to take everything he says literally
If he does win it, I think you're going to see him wage a total war on the media and the left. because what doe she have to lose?
Um, no. And it is normal for candidates to speak to their respective bases when an election isn't settled the same day.
Ok, I just compared the numbers that Trump and Biden has currently vs the numbers that they had almost an hour ago in post 528 posted by LoneStarGal. An hour ago Trump had a 662,706 lead over Biden. Current numbers in AP has Trump ahead by 681,314. That is a 18,608 increase in votes for Trump over Biden. (I was curious ok.....)
Look, he might want the left to think that way. But I think the battle lines have already been drawn it's just going to be more of the same. I don't think he's going to start seriously legislating censure of the press. It's going to be a close election either way. But let's not speculate too much, eh.
Haha. Yeah, Trump supporters take him seriously, not literally. The media and Democrats nit pick every word he says into mincemeat as if he literally says things in precise detail of what he means. That's not who he is.
Fox News decision desk just said that Nevada and possibly N. Carolina may be the only 2 States they may call. Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania will not have an answer until maybe tomorrow. So with that, I say goodnight to you all. This election has been a fun one for the ages! Hopefully our Country can be peaceful and nobody does anything stupid.
Interesting tweet, missed that one...then how do you acount for his silence? My feeling is he wants to be more certain
I did but don't remember now. My short term memory sucks. But currently Trump is at 2,703,112 and Biden is at 2,009,967. So Trumps lead is increasing even more. 693,145 difference between the two.
I'm really really hoping that when Trump has nothing to lose, he will mellow and become less divisive and more of a unifier. Seriously, who doesn't want Americans to be taken care of in America? He just makes 1/2 of the people feel un-American (like Obama did). Anyway, that's probably a pipe dream. Trump promised that if he won his first term, he would "act presidential". He didn't, but he has actually accomplished a lot more good for America than most "presidential-acting" presidents. LOL That's why Trump supporters forgive his pompous braggadocios personality. He gets things done.
Half a million vote difference???? I don't really see Biden winning that one. I don't see how Biden can win that. That is just to much of a difference. Even with all of the other different types of votes
Who knows. Maybe his campaign staff is "preparing" something for him, so he doesn't put his foot in his mouth. Right now, he seems to be thinking the election is being "stolen" because of the way remaining states are not going to count some votes until tomorrow or later. He can't say that...or he shouldn't say that.
