Biden administration likely to provide US citizenship to over 500,000 Indians

" The Biden administration will support family-based immigration and preserve family unification as a core principle of the US' immigration system. "

You have to read between the lines and realize what they mean by "family-based".

An Indian from India comes in on a temporary work visa, is only supposed to stay in the country for 2 or 3 years.

Now, because he has stayed in the country a couple of years, he can get citizenship. Not just him, but 5 of his family members too.

(Indians typically have big extended families)

Maybe some of you are not familiar with the concept of "chain migration". Once those family members have been in the country a couple of years, they will then be eligible to bring in their family members too.

This will basically mean there are no really "temporary workers" anymore. Anyone who comes and stays for a little while can then stay indefinitely.

Now we all understand why big tech was such advocates for Biden. They are about to get an influx of cheap skilled programmers.

Bet those Millennials aren't going to be too happy about this.

(a little FYI, tech was where some of the last good jobs were for college grads and was a big reason so many young Millennials were swarming into the big high cost cities like Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose, and New York)

Has anyone paid attention to the medical people who have been interviewed on television about COVID-19 these past eight or nine months? Thank your god for the India Indians that are here. They make up a huge percentage of our doctors here in America.

500,000 Indians and probably more others .. If Biden will agree than all that Trump said about him is true.

I think caution is always warranted with mass immigration. You need to look at short, medium and long term effects.

Any concern as to why there are not enough American doctors in a nation of 320 million?

I'm from the "do no harm" camp on this. I'm unclear why any industrialized nation would need mass immigration.
