ok I'm on a roll the last couple of days ito threads, this one is also important although the title would suggest otherwise

As soon as Biden announced his fake presidency earlier this week, our Labor (current opposition) started their Climate Change speeches, in parliament, on the internet, in the media... just about everywhere they could find and pushed the Paris Climate agreement very hard.

This is after Scott Morrison said Australia will follow its own roadmap ito emissions which is the fiscally responsible thing to do...considering the current economic climate and that we have just begun to emerge from a pandemic.
The pressure on the PM Scott Morrison also came form the Red queen communist Jacinda Ardern whom he sorted out quick smart.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...akes-swipe-New-Zealand-PM-Jacinda-Ardern.html

The Labor party is also fracturing since there are actually members who possess more than half a brain as well as a passion and loyalty for their country Australia. (referring Joel Fitzgibbon)
    https://www.news.com.au/national/po...t/news-story/096d7864db540e605573612405bb2842

Because what everyone, including the media and Labor and Joe Biden fail to point out, is that according to DanielTurner, executive director of Power the Future, the country in control of a “going green” push would be China, given its control over rare earth minerals and supply chains for the alternative energy markets.

So in summary, the Paris Agreement and Climate change push is nothing other than a Pro China push.

Australia's Labor party have sunk to the same level as US democrats, Daniel Andrews are directly responsible for the deaths of 100's of people in Victoria, yet he still remain as Victoria's Premier. There is simply no accountability for these people anymore.

China is now also stealing water from India, our Labor party wants to make us vulnerable with their climate change policies to Chinese dictatorship that will bleed us out. Labor is a National Security threat to Australia

'Australia on its own', ex-ambassador on worsening China relations
    https://www.smh.com.au/world/asia/a...orsening-china-relations-20201111-p56dnb.html

Well I've got news for Mr Raby, the Coronavirus have already come at a considerable cost to our living standards thanks to China.

he is also wrong when he says "Australia is on its own" Japan, India and all our neighbours are in the same situation as Australia.

    and

There is no conciliatory tone, there is no middle road, you either allow yourself to become a vessel for the Chinese empire or you stand your ground. The idea that you can fart around in the middle with China is an illusion that will cost Australia dearly

Labor & Australian exporters must understand the cheese have moved. The sooner they do this the better for them. There is no point wishing for yesterday.. ..."slap, slap"... yesterday is gone, move on.

Global manufacturers are flocking to Vietnam. Is it ready?
    https://asia.nikkei.com/Economy/Trade/Global-manufacturers-are-flocking-to-Vietnam.-Is-it-ready

Years ago at work they gave everyone this book to read about accepting change... the mice who couldn't accept change die... those who could find the path to the new cheese location & survive....anyway, I was rather peeved because there is only one thing I'm good at, everything else I'm mediocre at... I'm good at accepting change, therefore I was initially irritated they thought they needed to tell me the cheese have moved

The cheese is moving almost as fast as the crypto space

Asian trade mega-pact set to be signed this weekend
    https://www.bbc.com/news/business-54899254

Don't know the finer detail but would like to know the provisions on intellectual property, telecommunications - 5G?

Ok so Yay!!!!! we're back to pre Trump ( rolleyes)... nope, this is purely symbolic, demand is still circling the drain, manufacturers are still moving to Vietnam, the shadow banking system is causing a dysfunctional monetary system which means we are stuck between stagnation and recession... growth will ONLY return once we allow the corrupt banks to fail & move to a gold/bitcoin standard or both... which politicians don't have the stomach for so prop up they will, especially now that the bankers are trying to execute a Biden election fraud coup de tat.

For those sentimental about protecting manufacturing, we've mostly lost ours long ago, it takes years to build and we're likely to see a fourth industrial revolution with robotics...
If you are sentimental about stagnant wages due to globalisation, well the destruction of demand and the dysfunctional monetary system will prevent growth... so even without this agreement it doesn't really matter... nothing is going to grow as long as.... banks or centralised finance

Silver lining? Yes the financial services & professional services, China is also the first to launch the digital Yuan and if they can cease their aggression in the South China sea, Hong Kong, Taiwan we could probably see Asia take the lead on crypto and a digital financial sector as the rest of the world are years behind... perhaps wishful thinking but there's much potential, unfortunately China have control issues, so its likely one of the other Asian countries like Singapore, Japan or even Australia could move on this front.... let's see what happens.

We’re Never Going Back to the Old Economy, Fed Chairman Says
    https://www.financialsurvivalnetwor...ng-back-to-the-old-economy-fed-chairman-says/

China is furious with Australia, but their economic suffering have little to do with us and everything to do with the fourth industrial revolution so loudly ushered in as the "Great vvvreset" (that's Reset but with a Klaus Schwab accent) by their supposed best buddies in Davos.

It is the same globalists who took manufacturing from the west to China...who are now pulling the plug on manufacturing in favour of automation. We totally know how they (China) feel, remember we lost manufacturing too and now they tell us the service industry is also screwed.

All I know is if they keep pushing us to poverty and starvation Klaus Schwab will start to look good as a burger....they said you can eat anything between two slices of bread apparently

    Two Parties
    The same policies.
In :flagus: my personal term for them is RepubloCrats
    Same Wall St. policies.
Same foreign policy. Same Not At War, Wars.
    Same economic policies, etc.

This is not to say they can't share a policy such as human rights.
It is to say there is just too much sameness
in both our nation's 2 parties.

    Trump doesn't count.
Sanders who I preferred in '16 was likewise
    not a RepubloCrat.

Bernie? Don't tell scarlet she won't like you anymore.

But speaking of Trump: at last he is dealing with those nasty "big pharma" companies.

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-attacks-big-pharma-announces-programs-to-lower-drug-prices/

In his third appearance since election night, President Trump talked about his administration's work to lower the price of prescription drugs through regulations and argued its efforts could save Americans up to 30% in drug costs. He announced two new rules aimed at helping seniors, in particular.

That's the Trump that interested me in 2016.

Depends what 'left' you are talking about.

I doubt AOC gets a look in at the Guardian.

And certainly neither party in Australia understands MMT, which describes the ONLY way the globe could transition to a zero emissions economy if this HAD to happen within 10 years. (The losses due to stranded fossil assets would cripple the global economy, under current neo-liberal private enterprise funding arrangements).

And so both parties are split on climate change, the ALP even more than the coalition.

btw re "flat earth" climate change policies....Did you see Boris J. plans to ban diesel and petrol cars in the UK by 2030 (only 10 years away).

So you are on the wrong side now, with the need for transition to green rapidly being accepted by everyone except Rupert Murdoch and his cronies.

    As I uploaded #11
    I prefer an Anti RepubloCrat.
    In '16 that translated to
    Bernie first choice
    Trump second choice for me.

Clinton - Bush, Jr. - Obama
    24 years of RepubloCratic rule.
Same economic, foreign and war policies. Globalist policies too.
Make it 28 years if we add Bush, Sr.
Yet most are attached to meaningless labels & loyalty.
Republican or Democrat. Even when they are mostly the same
    when it comes to RepubloCrats.

    Hope that makes sense.
@scarlet witch knows how I feel. #12, as it applies to
the 2 party system of Australia.
One both the same as the other. Like ducks feet.
Both globalist, selling out the people of Australia.
See above. She doesn't quite agree. Believing Labor
    a greater evil, I think.

    And in 2020?

I suspect you went for Trump this time (since Bernie wasn't a candidate); but what if it was a Sanders v. Trump vote in 2016?

Certainly I now consider Trump's revealed 'survival of the fittest' mentality to be retrograde.

    Correct...we all agree...but
check my post #18 for further information....I reckon we split three ways again. .
Note: Life is complicated; people didn't decide to go communist because they decided to seize power just for the sake of it. They had a vision of a fairer system, not marred by poverty, below-cost-of-living-wages and unemployment.

    My answer below.
Who did you support in '16 & 20?

    Sanders.

Unfortunately he never got his "bern" in '20.

I will not vote for a Wall St. Democrat candidate.
I will vote for a Main St. Democrat.
Neither Hillary nor Biden are Main St.

I'm surprised, I had you down as a right winger.

    Me?

Sanders both times, especially because he might have learned about MMT from AOC.

The MMT community was incredibly excited about the prospect of prof. Stehanie Kelton being Treasury Secretary, when Bernie seemed to be sweeping all before him in the primaries.

Meanwhile in Australia, the ALP's Jim Chalmers and Andrew Leigh are true worshipers at Philip Lowe's church of neoliberal monetarist orthodoxy.
