Always intending to leave behind scorched earth, Trump wanted to launch a missile strike on Iran. But fortunately, his military advisers warned him of the high risk of war. _____________________________________ President Donald Trump considered launching a strike against Iran's main nuclear facility last week before senior advisers talked him out of the dramatic action, according to two new reports. Trump asked top national security aides including Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Acting Defense Secretary Christopher C Miller and Chairman of Joint Chiefs Mark Milley about the potential strike at a meeting in the Oval Office last Thursday, the New York Times reported Monday, citing four current and former US officials. The meeting took place a day after international inspectors informed United Nations members that Iran had significantly increased its stockpile of nuclear material. Trump's advisers ultimately dissuaded him from launching a strike by warning that such action could trigger a wider conflict with Iran, the Times sources said. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ke-Irans-main-nuclear-site-advisers-week.html ________________________________ God, let Joe Biden arrive before this psychopath plunges us into World War III.
holy mother of sweet baby jesus, Ark What's next for the republican madman ... trying to nuke Beijing cuz he thinks they helped Joe win???
Trump's authority over such matters should be revoked considering he's basically a lame duck. All subordinates should be instructed to disregard any measures that can cause extreme harm.
Trump replaced several top executives at the Pentagon last week. Something very disturbing is going on.
Exactly. That is why it may be a blessing in disguise...That Trump... ... A MISTAKENLY-ELECTED MENTALLY-UNSTABLE IDIOT WHO HAS DISGRACED THE OFFICE... ...Can be occupied by this absurd (zero chance for success) rabbit hole of contesting the Election... One less day that he can contemplate scorched earth Military Adventures. 25th Amendment time. #SAD
Wow you guys really do believe anything and everything. Read it. It doesn't name what officials or what link a report. Its basically citing anonymous sources.
Will you believe them? https://www.foxnews.com/politics/president-trump-irans-nuclear-program-talked-out-of-it
Telegraphed AF if you ask me. What's disturbing is media basically glossing over the guy saying "rigged fraud ballots in a river" firing top defense people and laughing about Trumps absurdity instead of being very concerned and informing the public of this potential big picture issue
Fox News confirmed on Monday. Conformed with who? Trump broached the possibility of military action with senior advisers. again what officials? Its anonymous sources Here the thing a real and legit article that has something like this would say who they spoke with. That is part of the CRAP test. As with Daily mall its citing anonymous source.
Like a multi-state fraud ring conspiracy consisting of thousands of people to steal the highest military command in the world even though cyber security experts and your own officials have said is impossible all because a well known and habitual liar tweeted it! Oh wait, thats the right wing... Strange
Pretty sure the court cases arent about winning or losing they're about throwing red meat to the base 70mil plus and getting them ready to accept Trump fixing the problem with any means necessary including through military use hence the Esper firing..... Say nope I won because of fraud and bank on Democrats being 1. Too blissfully unaware of this to have a strategy and 2. Democrats chickening out and letting him do it kinda like Gore being the bigger person in the 2000 election I hope I'm wrong but it is a possible scenario.
Well. Here is my take (as I have always felt about Trump's "options"). In theory, he is certainly within his rights to keep PARROTING His Delusional "We Wuz Robbed" routine... ...UNTIL Dec. 14th (The Day that the Electors Meet). Even if, by some Delusional Thought Process he refused to face REALITY (after the Dec. 8th "safe harbor deadline"... ...On Dec. 14th, the Decision Becomes FINAL. Dec. 8 — Last day for states to resolve election disputes States must certify election outcomes at least six days before the Electoral College meets — known as the “safe harbor” deadline — if they want to avoid Congress getting involved in resolving potential disputes. That means any court challenges to state election results must be settled by Dec. 8, 2020. If states certify election outcomes by this deadline, Congress must accept the results as valid. Dec. 14 — Electors cast their ballots Electors meet in their respective states to cast their ballots for president and vice president on the Monday after the second Wednesday in December. ___________ Beyond Dec. 14th, if Trump fails to accept the results: Then, you would have a Full-Blown Constitutional Crisis (and Every Option from the 25th Amendment to Impeachment would be on the table).
"Beyond Dec. 14th, if Trump fails to accept the results: Then, you would have a Full-Blown Constitutional Crisis (and Every Option from the 25th Amendment to Impeachment would be on the table)." This is what I'm worried about especially so with military officials being fired
Peculiar since one of his brags is about not being a warmonging Pres, or is this another one of his examples of claiming to be smarter than the generals. He is becoming a disgrace.
Trump believed all of his pro Israel policies would award him AIPACs blessing. Maybe this is his last attempt.
Fortunately he is inept and lacks the patience to maintain discrete behavioural steps towards a long-term goal (in this case some kind of coup?) But yes, still worrying that he might try something.
Exactly. That is the Critical Date. Beyond that (if Trump fails to accept reality): The Military would have to disobey orders to keep him in power.. OR... The Congress (with Bi-Partisan support) would have to ram through an Impeachment in lightning quick fashion Trump's inner circle needs to convince him that a 2024 Run makes sense, and if Trump wants that option, then he needs to go quietly.
So, Trump discussing options with his advisors (and opting not to strike) is alarming...? For context, Iran now has 12x the amount of enriched uranium it was allowed in the treaty, and it is more pure than was allowed in the treaty. While I personally would be very surprised if Iran didn't already have a few nukes stashed somewhere, at what point does a military strike to prevent them from manufacturing nukes become warranted? After they have several? After they test an ICBM? After the nuke somebody? Or maybe just after its not Trump doing it? Or should we let them manufacture nukes?
