To those who do not know, that is belied by the vast majority of biblical historical scholars.

Ascend and finally retire the genocidal one for the new covenant Christians talk about, I think.

Christians, of course, do not rid themselves of their fear of god, and do not condemn the genocidal Yahweh to hell the way Gnostic Christians do.

That is why we are the good Christians and they are not.

He also said he would have many brethren and that says that you and I can also be as one with the Father on Earth. Right?

That will be crowded as Jesus said he was the one to return.

Do you really want to be as one with a genocidal god?

Some cling to this old God tight its true - while crying new covenant out of other side of mouth. The Fundamentalists in particular - Evangelical and Pentecostal.

better perhaps to hearken back to the God of Abraham .. El - Creator - Father - most high - God who dwells in the mountain.

El is a reference to the name of God, Elohim. https://www.gotquestions.org/meaning-of-Elohim.html

Jesus called all of those who do the will of the Father his brethren. I believe that Jesus will return. I do want to know God. This article talks about the second coming of Jesus. https://carm.org/jesus-christ/if-jesus-god-then-why-did-he-not-know-time-his-return

History supports the Bible. There is eyewitness testimony about Jesus. There is early testimony about Jesus. Hundreds of people saw Jesus after He ressurected. Jesus taught the Bible. https://carm.org/new-testament-corrupted

The Bible teaches morals. Our standard of right and wrong comes from God's laws. Christian morals are universal. https://carm.org/moral-argument

Please stop posting nonsensical apology from that site as if it is credible. You have no idea about the different usage of the term El .. or Elohim in the Bible. and El is not "Elohim" you are confused as your nonsense source.

El is not a reference to the name of God - El is the proper name of a God .. and when this is the case it is denoted as such .. such as in Psalm 82 that I showed you.

El is equivalent to God but that doesn't equate the one true God with pagan gods. There are different names and titles of God that have El in them. El Gibbor is not Elohim. https://carm.org/does-god-have-a-name

The propaganda in your link is hilarious. You couldn't produce 5,000 legitimate ancient copies of the Bible written before the 690s for all of the gold and diamonds in the solar system. That is because the Bible wasn't written as an unified book before that time.

You do not understand that of which you speak. El - Enlil - Ellil - is the name of the Chief God of the Sumerian Pantheon. This is the God that Abraham knew as the most High growing up in Ur.

To Abraham - his Father Terah - and ancestors going back to Noah -all believed that El was the top of the food chain - as did every other family in the near East.

"Everyone" knows who El - and they all know the creation story found in Genesis. So when you are talking about "That Guy" - the one with epithets such as "Creator" "The Father" "Most High" "God who dwells in the Mountain" Everyone knows who you are talking about.

This is El - and this was the God of Abraham. The difference is that the people also served many other Gods. Abraham served only one - the one true God .. the "most high".

Remember that we are also talking about a symbol here - not a phonetic word. and everyone knows the symbol for the big Chief - even those who are not scribes.

But - you could also see El used as a Title followed by another name El Shaddai, El Elyon. In this case El is not the name but like saying of some God "Bolton" Lord Bolton El-Bolton - God Bolton.

So "El" as a proper name is denoted one way .. and as a Title is denoted another way.
For more info - see the journal article on "El as the speaking voice" in Psalm 82 - from the journal of Hebrew Scriptures that I gave you - but you did not read - because it conflicts with the standard apologist narrative.

    No argument buddy.

Christians cannot get past the conflict of a genocidal father, and Jesus if they buy into the Trinity concept, and the goody two shoes they try to paint Jesus.

That conflict is killing Christianity. Finally.

    Why?

Do you want to know other genocidal gods as well?

Why do you wish to get so close to a satanic god?

The wars in the Old Testament werent genocide they were sin-o cide. God wasnt working with people in the Age of Grace in the Old Testament days. The Old Testament judements were no different from Daniel being judged alongside the other Jews for the sins of the entire nation. https://www.gotquestions.org/Numbers-31-17-Midianites.html

Either by the order of things or the law at the time, the Midianite males would have passed down the bloodline and would have circumvented the judgement of the Midianites, but either way, such violence never existed outside the scope of the Old Testament Jews. Jesus and Paul never tore down pagan altars. The God of the Bible is not the God of the Koran. The violence in the Old Testament isnt the focus. God is also merciful in the Old Testament. Jesus said that he was the Judge of all people. You cant compare the Koran with the New Testament. The amount of focus on violence in the Bible is different than in the Koran. https://www.gotquestions.org/jihad-Bible.html

The hippie idea of Jesus goes against the Bibles teachings that Jesus died for our sins. Jesus being loving is related to why he is also holy and just. https://godwords.org/old-testament-god-vs-new-testament-god/

Arab Christians and Jews use the term Allah, and Im not saying that Allah is the moon god, but that doesn't change that Yahweh is the bibical name of God, not the arabic term Allah.

The Bible was written by 66 different authors, and it all has the same theme of seeking God, knowing God more and more, making God a part of your life, and repentance.

I think Christianity may well have been a very good religion prior to the Trinity Doctrine - but we don't know too much about that religion - some things perhaps - more than half the NT is written by a fellow who never met Jesus and writes nothing about the life of the man or his teachings.

Matt -Luke - use Mark as a Source document - adding in bits and pieces - same with John. So other than Mark -we have a few bits from the other Gospels.

Of the original Church of Jerusalem - "founded by James the Just" - Brother of Jesus - we have next to nothing.

To the victors go their version of history - and it was these folks who put the NT together - under the direction of Constantine - the fellow who declared that the Trinity would be Church Doctrine - a Church was all downhill after getting power.

    Hell does not exist.

There is a reason why it's never mentioned in the old testament, because punishment for sin to the Jews was simply being separated from God.

The concept of hell was created based on the Norse goddess of the same name Hel.

She is the goddess of torture who lives in a pit of fire. She punishes anyone who the gods consider worthy of punishment.

The concept of hell was created based on this in order to frighten the Norse Danish and other Vikings into converting to Christianity. The name hell was used for Satan's domain because of the connection to Norse religion.

I don't imagine separation from God is a pleasant thing or it wouldn't be compared to torture.

Do you think Hell is some sort of nice place?
