So you think they new before the game that they were going to get shut out.
That no extra point was going to be attempted. That no field goal would be attempted. No other kick offs per any type of scoring. The only reason for her was to perform the one squib kick.

LOL. What a stretch that makes you sooooo upset.

Clearly it bothers you given you’ve started a thread about this.

Vanderbilt's punter kicked 7 times. Whenever a place kicker goes down the punter takes his place, not a goalie from the women's soccer team. This is a stunt by a winless team and Vanderbilt exploited a woman.

It doesn't bother me, but it happened and according the sports world, history was made. The premise of my original post was this is a bad idea. What would you say if a 300 pound guy sent her flying into oblivion? Should she be blocked just like any other man on the team, or does she get special treatment? Like I said, bad idea.

Sounds like you’re being sexist. Of course she should be blocked like anyone else on the field.

I guess some just need an reason, any reason to complain about something.

Unfortunately, I think this girl getting knocked out cold from a tackle from a 250-something-pound man will be the only way people will realize, once and for all, that men and woman are not the same, and that not anything a man can do, a woman can do better.

    That's not true.

Lots of players can't throw a pass either.

It's a difficult thing kicking that ball consistently good, like hitting good golf shore.

In soccer the majority of players are very good at ball control so it's a natural fit to what they do.

And besides, kickers are not taught to tackle, they are coached. to get in the way and slow the runner or his blockers up until others get there or to push him out of bounds.

And if you've seen a bunch trying to tackle they simply aren't built for it either.

I see nothing wrong with it.

When I saw that kick from her, this was the sound effect that immediately played in my mind.

You must not know much about football. She actually did exactly what she was asked to do.

She made a really good kick, not sure why people think it's a stunt.

It's not like a male is going to do it any better.

    Kicker isn't a gender role.

Many conservatives are. Strong thinking independent women defy their ideology of keeping women as uneducated as possible, barefoot, and preggo.

No doubt there are some who yearn for those days. It's sad that some men are intimidated by strong women.

We aren't intimidated by strong women good god man! We actually care about their well being. Just because a girl can kick a football doesn't mean I want to see her get laid out by a guy she never had a chance against. And why is it such a break through that she is even allowed to play? Sounds like you think she is breaking some barrier because most women aren't good enough. Maybe we should have a male play for women's teams so we can break more barriers since that's all you guys want to celebrate. I think it's funny how liberals constantly want to put women in harms way, and when we conservatives don't want any harm to come to them, we are sexist or intimidated. I have 3 sisters, I don't want to see them physically compete against men not because I don't think they aren't good enough, it's because I don't want them to get hurt. Good grief.....

Why not wait till the end of the year - see how her stats measure up against the average male kicker in her league - and then make
a determination of her effectiveness? Too hard for you to do? Hell, if we based every professional player's whole career off their first game, there
would be a boatload of Hall-of-Fame players who wouldn't be in the Hall-of-Fame.

Right up until she has to tackle a guy that's got two inches and 100 pounds on her or the place holder fumbles the snap on an extra point and all of a sudden she's a running back with a 250 pound linebacker trying to separate her from the ball.

Do you not think she has the ability to make decisions on her well being? Obviously she knows the position she's putting herself in and is clearly ok with it. So it's really none of your business.

I don't think she's breaking any barrier at all. Which is why I haven't claimed such.

There have been boys who've played on women's field hockey, swim, volley ball, lacrosse and tennis teams.

Liberals haven't put this woman or any other women in harms way. Fuller chose on her OWN to join the team to kick. Odd you want to blame liberals for a decision Fuller made.

At the end of the day, if I was the opposing team, I would have an issue tackling the kicker the same way as a male. It is how I was brought up. I think most men would feel that way.

I think it puts the opposing team in a predicament that leads to unfairness.

I don't think its intimidation, its social norms.

In a game of football, I would have no problem taking down a kick with the full force of my strength and weight. That's the game, hit hard.

Knowing its a woman, and being raised to never put your hands on a female, hitting her with the same force for a tackle puts me in a awkward position.
