These are the kind of people that Trump hangs out with. These are the kind of people that he hires.

It is amazing that someone could say something which is clearly only absurd sarcasm and then someone to claim he is serious and use that for justification to say something worse and for that to be supported by so many people.

He said he should be "drawn and quartered". That generally requires tying a person to four different horses and riding them off in four different directions and then they are going to take the body parts out to be shot. How can can anyone take that seriously?

Then claim that he is threatening to murder someone after that absurd sequence of events.

And, yes, I realize there are other ways to draw and quarter, all of them equally bizarre.

 

I'm sure you would be as forgiving if the shoe were on the other foot. Or, you would call all Dems domestic terrorists. Me thinks, it would be the latter.

 

It's not about whether or not they seriously meant what was said. No one should publicly make such divisive statements. No one....as in EITHER side.
Anyone who defends someone saying something like this needs their head examined.

 

We can debate whether it's a genuine call for murder, but in politics, it is stupid to say, even jokingly, that someone else in politics should be killed.

 

You need to put whole Benova is and to put his remarks into context of what has been coming out of the Trumpocity's mouth and his Twitter. Take that and plug in the fact that the Trumpocity was throwing out lies claiming fraud in the election even before the first ballot was counted.
Then for a moth now the cacophony of lies have continued to expectorate from the Trumpocity while his favorite crazy man Hannibal Lecter Giuliani is filing false felonious unsubstantiated lawsuits virtual at the rate of 1.27 suits per day. Then a professional who was appointed/ hired by the Trumpocity's administration tells the truth - the election process was fair and no fraud evident. The fans of the Trumpocity go bezerk that someone dared tell the truth. TV attorney Joey D calls the truthsayer a traitor and says that he should be drawn and quartered.
No one said that the TV attorney Joey D threatened to murder the Truth Sayer but look at how many charged up unstable Trumpocity fans there are out there who hang on every word the Trumpocity or Trumpocity's support gang says. One or more of these unstable Trumpocity fans could take the words of Joey D seriously and commit murder. To support my warning look at history and see what that teenager Rittenhouse kid who committed murder after being charged up by the words of the Trumpocity.

Joey D just like the Trumpocity just threw gasoline on the fire under the false excuse of sarcasm and can again cause some ignorant low IQ degenerate to commit homocide motivated by lies. Think about it low IQ people do not understand sarcasm they just act out of emotional motivation.

It is not a matter of defending them. It is having a sense of proportion. Who could possibly take such a statement seriously?

 

Seems to me he was most assuredly being metaphorical. But a lawyer, esoecially one involved in such a partisan issue should know better than to speak publicly in that manner. He's practically begging to be taken literally. Bad move.

 

All you have to do is read it and you realize it was not serious. The only real danger is taking such a remark seriously and then trying to make it into something it is not.

 

Which is what the crazy people do when they shoot up churches and bars.

Hopefully after Jan 20th, we can start turning down the bombastic rhetoric in this country. Trump has brought out the worst in both sides.
